🎉🌍 Exciting News from CYCP Cohort One Alum Liliana Karesh 🎉🌍 In April, Liliana and her coalition, Napa Schools for Climate Action, reached a huge milestone when their Climate Restoration Resolution was passed by the Napa Valley Unified School District. Since then, they have been dedicated to creating a toolkit to help other students take similar action and developing a climate curriculum focused on Climate Restoration for NVUSD. But the journey didn’t stop there! Over the summer, Liliana collaborated with Congressman Mike Thompson’s legislative analyst, Brian Kneiser, in Washington, D.C., to draft a Congressional Climate Restoration Resolution. After being finalized in September, Congressman Thompson officially introduced House Resolution 1563 on November 5, with FOUR original co-sponsors joining in support! 👏 You can track the resolution here: https://lnkd.in/ghuCAchC Join us in celebrating Liliana and her team for making a groundbreaking step toward national climate action! 🎉 A huge shoutout also goes to the team behind the California Youth Climate Policy Leadership Program (Andra Yeghoian, Julie Ira, Stephanie Seidmon, Sarah Ranney)—this achievement underscores the powerful impact of mentorship, advocacy, and education in empowering the next generation of climate leaders!
