Have you heard about the Beneficial Ownership Information reporting requirement under the Corporate Transparency Act? It was in effect. Then, it wasn't. Then, it was. And now, once again, it isn't. As of Thursday, Dec. 26, 2024, the United States Court of Appeals for the Fifth Circuit reinstated an injunction halting the required filing of Beneficial Ownership Information for every small business, including farms and ranches, subject to the Corporate Transparency Act.
