On March 16, 2024, the Happy Valley Sports & Entertainment Alliance hosted the Happy Valley Sports Officials Symposium. The symposium welcomed in five Pennsylvania school districts, two local State College sports associations, and several community advocates to learn from the educators in the Taunton (MA) school district on how they implemented a school to work ‘track’ to systematically train high school students to become sports officials. It was inspiring to hear how Mark ‘Otto’ Ottavianelli and his crew in Massachusetts addressed a major crises in America. We hope to do see something similar implemented in #HappyValleyPA #officials #HVSEA #hvab

Gabi is a senior at Penn State majoring in Public Relations/Advertising with a minor in Psychology. As the Vice President of the CAS & LPH Club and an engaged member of the Public Relations Student Society of America (PRSSA), the Parkland, FL native is determined to advancing her career in the sports industry.   Meghan is a fourth-year Kinesiology major from Summit Hill, PA interested in pursuing a career in sports and event management. She currently holds the pivotal role as the Lectures Chair for Penn State’s Student Programming Association, where she contributes to the planning and execution of campus events.
