We are excited to announce that Darren P. with New York Life is #signinguptosavelives as a candidate for our 2025 Orlando Visionaries of the Year Campaign! Darren is a dedicated philanthropist, financial professional, and family man whose personal and professional journey is driven by a deep commitment to making a lasting impact on the lives of others. A nominee for the 2025 Visionary of the Year, Darren’s heart for service and community engagement is evident in both his professional and charitable endeavors. Since 2019, Darren has been an active participant in fundraising efforts for breast cancer awareness, a cause that became profoundly personal to him when his best friend, former college professor, and mental health therapist, Tammie DeYoe, survived stage 4 breast cancer. Tammie’s courage and resilience in the face of such an immense challenge have inspired Darren to channel his energy into supporting those affected by cancer and other life-altering illnesses. In addition to his philanthropic efforts, Darren advises individuals and families on strategic financial planning, guiding them in the protection of their assets and the creation of meaningful legacies. As a father to an 11-year-old son and a husband of 13 years, Darren brings a personal understanding to his work with LLS, recognizing the profound impact that a cancer diagnosis can have on families, and the importance of a thoughtful, supportive approach to building a secure future. Darren’s father instilled in him a powerful life lesson at a young age, advising him to “always do the right thing, no matter what, and NEVER cut corners or sacrifice quality.” These words have shaped Darren’s approach to life and service, guiding his every action and commitment. Thanks to the support of our community, the Patient Aid Fund for Hurricane Helene and Milton has provided emergency financial assistance to 546 blood cancer patients and their families in North Florida!
