The new Volvo spot highlights the power of storytelling and why emotional resonance not only fosters attention but connection. A great story makes you watch something that's longer than the best practice video tips say. An emotional story will have you hold your breath to see how it ends. How do you do this? ⏳ Nostalgia is Magic Take your audience on a trip down memory lane. Reference iconic moments, use retro aesthetics, or remind them of shared experiences from the past. Nostalgia connects generations instantly. ❤️🩹 Lead with Empathy Show you get them. Share relatable struggles, celebrate victories, and advocate for causes they care about. Vulnerability = trust. 📖 Tell Powerful Stories Don’t just talk—take them on a journey. Use real-life challenges, triumphs, or everyday moments to inspire and connect. People don’t forget stories. 🎶 Music is Your Secret Weapon Pair the right sound with your content. Nostalgic tracks, emotional instrumentals, or high-energy beats can amplify feelings and make your message unforgettable. 🤝 Create Shared Moments Spark joy or FOMO. Use trends, challenges, or cultural moments to bring people together and encourage participation. 🤯 Surprise Them Everyone loves a twist. Add unexpected moments of kindness, humor, or plot twists to keep them engaged—and emotionally hooked. 🖼️ Relatable Visuals Matter A cozy kitchen scene, warm lighting, or familiar backdrops make your content feel like home. 👋 Engage Meaningfully Don’t stop at posting. Reply to comments, reshare audience stories, and start conversations that deepen the bond. A story that connects is a story that converts.

Friendly reminder to run your own race. Going on social can make you think that if you aren't a thought leader or an influencer that you aren't doing good work. That's simply not true. Determine what success looks like to you and don't be afraid when you show up differently. We need different. If every post here looks and feels the same, we won't learn or push ourselves to grow. Be unapologetically human. Be you.

Honored to interview one of my favorite creators here, Qetsiyah Jacobson, for The Woman's MBA podcast. During the interview she shares her corporate life as a creative, why she left to do her own thing, and why she and the rest of Gen Z look at their careers differently. Special thanks to our sponsor The StartUp Marketer for amplifying and supporting women's stories! Listen with the link in the comments.

How can businesses use customer feedback? I share my thoughts with business.com, a Centerfield company. "Christina Garnett, chief customer officer at neuemotion, stressed that using feedback to improve customer service is critical to customer retention. 'While your customer retention rate is important to pay attention to, you need to look at the qualitative data and feedback to understand why they would want to leave in the first place,' Garnett explained. 'Then and only then do you have the information you need to solve the problem and try to save the customer relationship.'" https://lnkd.in/eZqZ2K7i

We need to talk about ageism. For the latest The Woman's MBA, I'm joined by Debra Hotaling as we discuss second careers, how older women are treated as marketing personas, and ageism as we know it in the business world. A must listen episode with a brilliant woman who is redefining what it looks like as an older woman in business. Check out the link in the comments. Special thanks to sponsor The StartUp Marketer for helping me amplify the voices of women in business.
