Thank you Governor Mike DeWine for signing HB 28 to establish March as Triple Negative Breast Cancer Awareness Month in Ohio! This is a huge step forward in amplifying awareness for a disease that disproportionately impacts young women, women of color, and those at higher risk. Together, we can drive education, equity, and action to support those affected by triple-negative breast cancer. Awareness saves lives. Action changes outcomes. Thank you, Ohio, for leading the way! #TNBCMonth #AdvocacyInAction #HEALpolicy4Change #BreastCancerAwareness

Tigerlily's mission is to educate, advocate, empower, and support young women throughout their breast cancer journey.
About us
Tigerlily Foundation’s mission is to educate, advocate for, empower, and support young women before, during, and after breast cancer. MISSION To educate, advocate for, empower, and support young women, before, during and after breast cancer. VISION We envision a future where breast cancer diagnosis doesn’t inspire fear, but ignites hope for a future because: We can inspire young women diagnosed with breast cancer to transform inside and out as they journey through treatment to live their best life going forward. We empower young women to be advocates for change Breast cancer will no longer be a terminal disease, but become a chronic disease that will someday be cured. Through our programs, we seek to educate and empower women of all backgrounds, including those at heightened risk, those facing health disparities, and those with less access to care. We strive to improve the quality of life and end isolation among breast cancer survivors. Most importantly, we encourage and endeavor to empower fearless females in every stage of their journey, and to show them that they are not or alone, but are beautiful, strong like the tiger and the lily, and that they can be transformed – during and after breast cancer.

So grateful to Tigerlily Foundation and Maimah Karmo for this opportunity to talk about navigating feelings in the context of cancer.
Feelings are a part of every human experience. Feelings have an evolutionary base to them and are to help us navigate a complicated world. Becoming mindful is a way to recognize and move through these feelings and can help you navigate the emotions that cancer brings to your life. Michelle de Fremery Ferretti, LCSW, OSW-C

I was proud to join Maimah Karmo of Tigerlily Foundation in authoring a new opinion piece published this week in the Richmond Times-Dispatch. In the piece, we highlight how state prescription drug affordability boards (#PDABs) have yet to demonstrate real savings for patients at the pharmacy counter and instead create barriers to accessing lifesaving treatments. Here are three key takeaways Maimah and I share in the piece: ➡️ Upper payment limits (also known as UPLs), the singular tool many PDABs can use to set prices, will NOT lower out-of-pocket costs for patients and could negatively impact the supply chain. ➡️ The impact of these boards would be particularly acute for older Americans if PDABs continue to focus on medicines that help patients manage chronic conditions and comorbidities. ➡️ Virginia lawmakers must prioritize solutions that provide real relief to patients at the pharmacy without negatively impacting treatment access today and in the future. Policies that advance health equity, promote opportunities for healthy aging, and enable the development of treatments that can support the silver economy are essential. We must continue to work toward this goal in the upcoming legislative session in my home state of Virginia and in states across the country. Drop a comment here if you want to connect and discuss how GCOA is engaging on this issue. You can read our full opinion here: https://bit.ly/4grijsG.
Commentary: A drug board will only hinder access to medical treatments
