We are grateful for the generosity of the greater Syracuse community who made donations large and small to help Food Bank of Central New York this holiday season during our live event. There is always still time to give. Whether it's during our Food for Families campaign (in store or online at https://lnkd.in/dAG4BQyn) through December 28 or directly to the Food Bank all year through!

Tops Community Relations team comprised of Kathleen Allen, Andrew Brocato, Courtney Mailhot, Hope Murphy, and Timothy Schilling was honored to be selected as one of Progressive Grocer's 2024 Impact Award recipients. One of the most important roles that grocery industry companies undertake is that of being good stewards in the area of environmental, social and governance (ESG) investments. As shown by Progressive Grocer’s 2024 Impact Awards, which this year boasts an impressive 75 honorees, chosen from close to 200 nominees across retailers, CPG companies and solution providers, this impetus to make the world a better place is stronger than ever. PG recognized companies’ outstanding achievements in the following categories: Community Service/Local Impact Diversity Equity, Inclusion and Belonging Educational Support/Learning Advancement Ethical Sourcing/Supply Chain Transparency Food Security/Nutritional Leadership Philanthropic Innovation/Corporate Giving  Sustainability/Resource Conservation  Workforce Development/Employee Support Whether doing good works at home or abroad, with the aim of benefiting local communities or potentially millions around the globe, all of the Impact Award recipients stepped up to the plate to improve the status quo and assure consumers that they’re walking the talk when it comes to ESG measures. Tops was proud to be among one of the few selected for this recognition. Congratulations to all of the honorees who go above and beyond to make an impact in the communities they serve.

Wishing heartfelt congratulations to Avon store manager, Doug Linborg, who received a surprise recognition at a recent Avon Legion Christmas Dinner. Doug was honored to receive two Certificates of Appreciation - one recognizing Tops and the other honoring his dedication to the community. Congratulations to Doug and the entire Avon, NY Tops store team for all you do to serve the community.

Congratulations to Amy Blair who has joined the Tops family as Receptionist/HR Administrator at our Corporate office located in Williamsville, NY. Amy will be responsible for presenting a positive impression of the company while providing excellent customer service to all internal and external customers. Amy began her employment with Tops in 2004 at our Young Street location as a part time cashier. She moved to full time in 2009 and has held various department manager positions. In addition to welcoming Amy to the team, we want to congratulate Brianna Roberts on her new role as Northeast Shared Services Employee Leave Clerk. Congratulations to both associates!

As celebrations continue for the Grand Re-opening of our D&L Plaza location (Depew/Lancaster, NY), we were thrilled to be able to support 11 local non-profit organizations who work hard to support our communities each and every day. Yesterday we were excited to announce the expansion of the Double Up Food Bucks program into three Tops locations in Onondaga County. Not only was this major announcement made, but we were excited to also unveil that 14 additional locations will be onboarded by the holidays, making for a total of 23 Tops locations across NYS accepting SNAP benefits for a dollar for dollar match on fresh produce. And wait...it gets better. We're doubling down on doubling up! The match on fresh fruits and vegetables has now been INCREASED from $10 to $20 putting healthier options within reach! Our thanks to partners Field & Fork Network, Catalina USA, and National Grocers Association Foundation, in addition to many local and state leaders, who continue to rally for important funding, ensuring the program continues to flourish.

Today, Tops was proud to host the live Food for Families event in Rochester, NY benefitting Foodlink. Thank you to everyone who not only made a difference by purchasing a little brown bag of hope as they shopped today, but throughout the campaign. Today Tops was thrilled to cut the ribbon on its 45th Regrand Opening at D&L Plaza. This nearly $3M investment creates a modern, welcoming shopping environment complete with new technology, a much anticipated Starbucks, and an expanded product selection-all designed to make for a better shopping experience. There is always something magical about the Food 2 Families live event. While the spirit of giving is alive and well all season long, today the community did not disappoint as they pulled up by the cart and car full with donations, made monetary donations, and gave what they could to make a difference to help our fellow neighbors in need.
