Black History Month 2025 - Meet some of our 7th Floor colleagues who’re caring for our patients and each other this weekend. It's through their work, and everyone else at our hospital, that we earned for the fourth consecutive year the 2025 America's 250 Best Hospitals award from Healthgrades. https://lnkd.in/dtKj6Jn

50th Anniversary Celebrations - Unscripted, but from the heart. A recent event was much more than Board members, hospital colleagues and community members signing a piece of steel for a $40M, 80,000 square feet medical office building. We hope you’re as encouraged as we are after hearing the thoughtful words of (l-r) David Baggs, Charleston Southern University, Chair, Trident Health Board of Trustees; Ashley M. Powell, Assoc. AIA, AICP, Berkeley County (SC) Government, Trident Health Board of Trustees; and Colin Martin, retired, former Town of Summerville administrator, Trident Health Board of Trustees. A common theme in their public discussions is the support Trident Health receives from HCA Healthcare to expand services to underserved communities in the Charleston, SC region.

50th anniversary memories - A father recalls memories of his son being born at our hospital 18 years ago. A daughter tells Jeffrey Wilson, President, Trident Health and CEO, Trident Medical Center, that we saved her father’s life after a traumatic accident. We appreciated updating members of the Berkeley County Chamber of Commerce on our expansion plans, but we received much more in return from our guests who said “thank you” for how we’ve cared for their families over the years.

Called to Serve - A book could be written about the impact the leaders shown in the photo have had, and still have, in the Charleston, SC region and across the state. Dr. Thaddeus Bell (r) was the first Black physician on our medical staff. He joined us four years after we opened in 1975. Over the years, his work as a physician and as a statewide leader in promoting healthcare literacy and helping correct inequities in the delivery of health care brought him into contact with (l) Rev. Demett Jenkins, DMiv, Dir., Spiritual Care & Outreach, Trident Health and Rev. Samuel McPherson, Chaplain, Trident Health. Together, they’ve moved mountains, strengthened families and communities, and restored hope among many who were close to giving up. It was our honor to host Dr. Bell as he spoke to our Residents during Grand Rounds and to see the embrace and smiles of three longtime friends. #HCAHealthcare #HCAHealthcareSouthAtlanticDivision
