For most people, the chance to walk through pivotal moments in history is the stuff of fantasy. But Zubr - a UK-based tech company - is on a mission to bring US history to life. UK & US military personnel and academics were universally wowed when Zubr stopped by to demonstrate its latest project in conjunction with the American Battlefield Trust. Combining technology with the rich history of the American Revolutionary War its latest app - which uses augmented reality - delivers an interactive and immersive experience allowing users to see what battlefields along the Liberty Trail were like at the time. “I think it’s great” says retired US Marine Gen. Richard Mills. “It really gives you a feel for what things looked like and what went on there.”
We were honoured to showcase the forthcoming American Battlefield Trust Liberty Trail AR project at the British Embassy in Washington last week. Over two years in the making, this incredible suite of AR apps, web content and AR Binoculars recreates a number of South Carolina's most significant battlegrounds of the American Revolutionary War in stunning 3D detail. It was fantastic to see both UK and US military personnel, academics and staff exploring the battlefield sites, and even trying on Rev War uniforms (all virtually, of course). The Liberty Trail AR app is launching soon on iOS and Android. Thanks to collaborators and guests! Three days ahead of its US release, the British Embassy is wickedly excited to host an advance screening of the season’s most anticipated release. One of the most beloved and enduring musicals on the stage, Wicked makes its journey to the big screen this holiday season as a spectacular cinematic event – and thanks to our partners at Comcast Corporation/NBCUniversal we can celebrate the magic of UK-US partnership in the creative, arts and movie industries, together. Productions like these are a powerful demonstration of the strength and innovation of the UK’s Arts industries - the third largest creative service exporter in the world, which contributed more than £100 billion to the UK economy last year alone. For years, Wicked has captivated theatre audiences on both sides of the Atlantic, from its origins on Broadway to its smashing success in London’s West End. Now, through a partnership with British studios, British talent and even British gardeners (!) Wicked has made it to movie theatres and we’ve no doubt it’ll go stratospheric or, it will…..ahem….defy gravity!

🇺🇦 It's been 1,000 days since Russia's illegal invasion of Ukraine. In the UK's efforts to support Ukraine in their fight, 50,000 troops have now completed a five-week training course under Operation Interflex. Alongside our partner Landmarc Solutions, we support this work by adapting training areas, creating bespoke learning spaces and providing accommodation and meals for troops. So far, more than 10 million meals have been served to Ukrainian recruits. 🍽 #SlavaUkraini #WeStandWithUkraine

Philanthropist and visionary businessman Stephen A. Schwarzman has embraced transatlantic commerce and charitable partnerships in a truly incredible way – and his endeavours have now been recognised by King Charles III. The CEO of Blackstone has been a longtime supporter of Oxford University’s Humanities Centre and for this - and his wider charitable works - Dame Karen Pierce, the British Ambassador to the US, was delighted to present him, on behalf of the King, with an honorary knighthood in recognition of his generous services to philanthropy.
