I’m happy to share that I’ve obtained a new certification: Cyber Security Governance, Risk, and Compliance (GRC) Mastery from GRC Mastery! I want to express my deepest gratitude for the exceptional guidance and instruction I received during this GRC Mastery course by Abed Hamdan. The knowledge and skills imparted by the instructor have been invaluable, equipping me with the tools to confidently embark on my journey in the field of GRC. Through the course, I gained a solid understanding of conducting cybersecurity assessments using the CIA triad, which emphasized the importance of confidentiality, integrity, and availability in securing assets. I also developed proficiency in Cyber Security Risk Management and conducting Maturity Assessments using the NIST Cybersecurity Framework (CSF), skills that will help me evaluate and improve security programs effectively. Additionally, I learned the importance of Asset Management in protecting organizational resources and the critical role of Security Education and Awareness in fostering a culture of vigilance. The insights into auditing across the three lines of defense and assessing third-party and supply chain controls further enhanced my ability to ensure comprehensive risk oversight. Finally, the focus on Identity and Access Management (IAM) highlighted the significance of protecting user access and credentials, a key component of any security program. This course has been a transformative experience, and I sincerely thank the instructor for providing a thorough and practical course.

I’m still on a high from #cyberconmelbourne2024 , what a fantastic event! The highlight of the event for me was meeting so many amazing people.. too many to fit in one post!!! I was overwhelmed by the kindness and support of this community and I am fortunate to be part of it! Here’s what I learned: - That I’m extremely grateful for everyone who attended my talks. Everyone was so engaged and asked so many questions, I tried my best to answer but unfortunately I ran out of time and space. We ran out of standing room in my second session. I’ll need to ask Australian Information Security Association (AISA) for a bigger room and more time next year 😉 - The new generation of students and career changers to cyber bring an incredible amount of passion, drive, fresh ideas, change, and transferrable skills! I believe the cyber industry is about to improve 10x in the new few years - I need to do more for this community. This was evident by the questions that I get in both my sessions. I’ve already identified key areas where I will contribute a lot more! Can’t wait to do it all again in 2025 🙏🏻 #cyberconmelbourne2024 #AISA #AuCyberConferenceMelbourne #AustralianCyberConferencehas #AustralianCyberConference #CyberSecurity #GRC
