About us
As a member country of the International Union of Radio Science (URSI), the U.S. has a National Committee (the United States National Committee for URSI, or USNC-URSI). This committee is appointed by the National Academy of Sciences, Engineering, and Medicine (NASEM). USNC-URSI is also one of 24 scientific unions reporting to the Board on International Scientific Organizations (BISO) in the National Academies. USNC-URSI is the only U.S. organization that represents applied electromagnetics. It coordinates studies, research, applications, scientific exchange, and communication in all fields of radio science ranging from telecommunications to radio astronomy and medicine.
