“I don’t think policymakers on either side have wrapped their brains around the amount of power it will take to win the AI race.” #ICYMI our Strategic Advisor, former #FERC Chairman Neil Chatterjee talked to Latitude Media about the appeal of #virtualpowerplants across the political spectrum. Chatterjee, along with fellow former FERC Chairman Jon Wellinghoff, will help Voltus maximize opportunities for customers, the grid, and the planet through FERC Order 2222, along with other policy and regulatory developments. https://lnkd.in/eDQ4mVwM

🎥 WATCH: Voltus featured on ABC7 Los Angeles news! Our Chief Technology Officer, Neil Lakin, and Senior Sales Director, Stacy Lane share how Voltus, a #virtualpowerplant operator, pays users to reduce or shift their energy consumption. 🚀 How it works: - Voltus works to understand customers’ energy usage, identifying ways to reduce or shift consumption during peak hours. - When there’s not enough energy on the grid, Voltus’s customers are called on to reduce electricity, just like a power plant is called on to produce energy. - As a result, customers save money, reduce their carbon footprint, and contribute to grid resilience. 💧 A prime example: Westside Water Authority near #Bakersfield. They've turned their operational flexibility into energy revenue and savings while helping the grid. Watch the video below: https://lnkd.in/gErWbQ5J

Read it in RTO Insider LLC! Former #FERC Chairman Neil Chatterjee has joined Voltus as a Strategic Advisor. “Voltus is a leading #virtualpowerplant operator and #distributedenergyresource platform, and helping them realize the market opportunities enabled by [FERC Order] 2222 was really exciting to me," he says. Voltus's Chief Regulatory Officer and former FERC Chairman Jon Wellinghoff also comments: “With Chairman Chatterjee coming aboard, Voltus possesses even greater capability to work with public service commissions, grid operators, utilities and other industry decision-makers to remove the remaining barriers hindering the full realization of DERs’ capabilities." https://lnkd.in/gGb8F4UR

We are excited to share that former Federal Energy Regulatory Commission Chairman, Neil Chatterjee has joined Voltus as a Strategic Advisor. As #FERC Chairman, Neil passed landmark FERC Order 2222, which enables #distributedenergyresources (DERs) to participate in wholesale electricity markets through aggregations. Neil joins another former FERC Chairman - Jon Wellinghoff, Voltus's Chief Regulatory Officer - to help Voltus unlock the full power of DERs and #virtualpowerplants and make the grid more reliable, affordable, and democratized. Welcome to the team, Neil! https://lnkd.in/g6vyde-g

🎙️Ep155: VPP & DER #applepodcast https://lnkd.in/dhTv48S #spotify https://lnkd.in/ditGthT #transcripts https://lnkd.in/er6wUv53 What are #VPPs? Virtual Power Plants. What are #DERs? Distributed Energy Resources As electricity demand grows and intermittent renewable energy on the grid increases, the VPP/DER platforms provide a critical role by shedding demand, sometimes for only a few minutes, to alleviate stress on the grids. VPPs can avoid using polluting peakers via pre-agreed and targeted demand reduction, or shifting consumption via batteries , and even participating in the frequency response market. And system operators are willing to pay a decent price to have access to these resources. That is the mission of Dana Guernsey. Dana is the CEO of Voltus, a leading DER technology platform and virtual power plant operator connecting distributed energy resources to electricity markets. As interconnection queues lengthen and capacity costs explode, are we at the on the dawn of a crazy development of VPPs? Dana explains that by while working with for Walmart or a fleet of electric school buses, she can reduce Voltus’s clients power bills by up to 20% while keeping their core services unchanged. Gerard Reid and Laurent Segalen are going to talk about technology, heating and cooling management, AI… and lasagna. Take a deep dive into the future.

Many thanks to the White House Climate Policy Office and the Council of Environmental Quality for bringing this group of energy leaders together this week to discuss the acceleration of #virtualpowerplant (VPP) participation from Federal Buildings. There was clear alignment from representatives from the United States Department of Defense, U.S. Department of Energy (DOE), and GSA on the pronounced economic, reliability, and sustainability benefits of #VPPs and receptivity to learning from the private sector on how to onboard thousands of government owned and operated buildings and defense installations at scale. Voltus is poised to use our experience managing over 7 GW of #demandresponse and #distributedenergyresources to assist in this effort and looks forward to further collaboration!
