About us
Based in Portland, Oregon, Woofter Bolch Architecture is a collaborative design practice equally committed to providing excellent design and outstanding client service. We believe that successful architecture must be environmentally sound, grounded in place, and responsive to its time and culture. Creating enduring architecture is a team-oriented, multi-disciplinary endeavor. We listen, learn, and discover with each client. Our process is driven by inquiry and research, seeking solutions for each project specific to its site, program, and budget. With a broad range of expertise developed over many years of hands-on, start-to-finish project involvement for both private and public clients, we apply rigorous effort and keen attention to detail in all aspects of our work. Our overriding ethic is to deliver the best possible design solutions in the interest of the client and project. In all our work we are firmly committed to sustainable design. We believe it is our responsibility to be environmental stewards and to minimize negative impacts of the built environment on natural systems. In each project, design decisions are studied holistically in a process that emphasizes sustainable considerations from beginning to end. To do more with less is a fundamental goal.
