We are thrilled to share that two of our experts, Ammar AlQadi, Engineer - Water, and Kokila Lochan, AICP, KSA Lead for Development, Planning & Urban Design, represented WSP at COP16Riyadh, contributing to pivotal conversations on sustainable development and environmental stewardship. Ammar served as a host at the SAUDI GREEN BUILDING FORUM Pavilion and moderated the panel “Bridging the Gap Between Science and Policy”, a session that highlighted the importance of clear communication, interdisciplinary collaboration, and innovative solutions to tackle land degradation and promote healthier ecosystems. Ammar emphasised the transformative role of science-policy-industry partnerships in driving actionable and impactful policies for environmental sustainability. Kokila joined a panel discussion on sustainable land use planning for urban and rural areas, an engaging session that delved into key challenges, opportunities; and the critical need for early planning, genuine community engagement, and collaboration, across public and private sectors to drive sustainable solutions that work for all. Congratulations to the Royal Commission for Riyadh City | الهيئة الملكية لمدينة الرياض (RCRC) for the inauguration of the Riyadh Metro Network. We are incredibly proud to have partnered with RCRC on this transformative project, having played a key role in delivering Package 3, which consists of the Yellow, Green and Purple lines (lines 4,5 & 6), in partnership with Hill International, Inc. Together, we have mobilised over 250 experts from across the globe to bring this iconic vision to life. With 6 lines, 85 stations, and 176 km of cutting-edge, driverless transit, the Riyadh Metro is set to transform the city’s urban mobility, connect communities and contribute to the Kingdom’s Vision 2030 sustainability goals, by reducing congestion and cutting carbon emissions. At WSP, we take pride in our commitment to Corporate Social Responsibility by giving back to the communities where we live and work. This month, our Advisory teams in the UAE and KSA came together to celebrate achievements, strengthen bonds, and make a tangible impact on the environment. 𝗔𝗷𝗺𝗮𝗻, 𝗨𝗔𝗘 90 team members gathered at the Ajman Mangroves. Through dragon boat racing and team-building challenges, we reinforced teamwork and celebrated our 2024 successes. Most importantly, we united for a beach cleanup, removing 47kg of waste and contributing to a cleaner coastline. 𝗥𝗶𝘆𝗮𝗱𝗵, 𝗞𝗦𝗔 In Wadi Hanifah, 35 team members gathered for an inspiring afternoon of team bonding and environmental responsibility.
