    We had a great time last week hearing from Wendell Lansford, Jennifer Peters, and Jonathan Joseph on the topics of responsible data collection and preference-based personalization! Three takeaways from the event: 1️⃣ Brands needs a single source of truth for their customer data. This is the first step towards bridging any gaps between marketing and compliance functions. 2️⃣ Customer data must be earned. Consider what value - immediate and in the future - a customer gets for volunteering a piece of their data. The higher the perceived value, the more information a customer will be willing to share. 3️⃣ For brands getting started with preference-based personalization - start small. Think of just 1 or 2 pieces of data you'd like to know about your customers, and build experiences to earn and action those data points.
