🌍 Yesterday, our CEO had the privilege of being a panelist at Carbon Unbound in London, where I shared Yama’s vision for unlocking scalability in Direct Air Capture (DAC) technology. Our innovative approach integrates scalable, low-grade heat sources with electrochemistry, making DAC more energy-efficient and cost-effective. We are incredibly grateful to have shared the stage with an amazing group of entrepreneurs cc Aaron Boylan, Oliver Erb and to engage with investors cc Sarah Jones, Erica Vertefeuille who asked the right questions around scalability and market traction. Together, we’re pushing the boundaries of what’s possible in carbon removal. Thank you to everyone who participated and to those who are driving the conversation forward! #CarbonUnbound #DirectAirCapture #ClimateTech #CDR #Scalability #CarbonRemoval

We are excited to announce a strategic partnership between Great Carbon Valley (GCV) and Yama to advance direct air carbon capture projects in East Africa! GCV is a Kenya-based systems integrator and project development company that seeks to develop technical carbon removal projects in the region. Yama, a France-based company leader in hybrid electrochemical Direct Air Capture (DAC) technology, delivers energy-efficient, scalable solutions for carbon capture.   By combining GCV's project development expertise—from feasibility studies to securing financing—with Yama's cutting-edge DAC technology, we are committed to delivering large-scale carbon removal across East Africa. Our partnership will offer cost-effective, high-quality carbon management solutions, setting a new standard for green industrial development.   Under the terms of this partnership, our focus will be on integrating DAC and energy technologies to establish sustainable carbon removal and green industrial hubs in key locations across the Great Rift Valley.   The initial pilot project set for 2-3 years will lay the foundation for a demonstrator, a First-of-a-Kind (FOAK) plant, and, eventually, a large-scale plant capable of capturing 5 million tons of CO2 annually by 2032.   This announcement lays the groundwork for an innovative partnership between Yama and Great Carbon Valley, positioning Kenya as a leader in Direct Air Capture technology with the potential for expansion to industrial scale in the near future.
