Twitter merged into Musk's 'X'
Twitter Inc. is no longer an independent company, but rather one part of a newly created shell called X Corp, reports Bloomberg, citing a court document. CEO Elon Musk tweeted the single character "X" Tuesday, setting off speculation of what the move means for the future of the social media platform. Musk previously said his acquisition of Twitter would pave the way for X, which he envisions as “an everything app" — à la China's WeChat — for things like payments, booking and messaging.
- Twitter is believed to be working up an artificial-intelligence project, reports Business Insider, citing anonymous sources. Musk recently hired some engineers from Alphabet's DeepMind.
- A trio of former Twitter executives, including previous chief executive Parag Agrawal, are suing the company for more than $1 million in unpaid legal fees from a shareholder lawsuit and inquiries.
- Running Twitter is "quite painful," Musk told the BBC. Read about his interview here.
