🌊 🏆 Fantastic results for -4H-JENA engineering GmbH at the recent Ocean Re-CREATION Challenge! For five days, interdisciplinary teams from science and industry worked together to develop innovative solutions for the current challenges in coastal and marine protection. The focus was on team building, mentoring, and exciting new insights. The teams developed prototypes and business models, which were presented and awarded on Pitch Day. Our colleagues Rengin Yağmur Akbıyık and Arshana were actively involved in these exciting challenges: ▶ Arshana’s Challenge: Ocean Data B – Ocean Data from Plankton Camera. In collaboration with openUC2, a camera system was developed to improve global plankton and POM data collection on ships. ▶ Rengin’s Challenge: Ocean Data A – Ocean Data from Sailing Boxes. Together with GEOMAR Helmholtz-Zentrum für Ozeanforschung Kiel, Alfred-Wegener-Institut, Helmholtz-Zentrum für Polar- und Meeresforschung and Helmholtz-Zentrum Hereon, an innovative concept using sensor-equipped sailing boats was created to gather critical oceanographic data for climate research and ocean protection. Both challenges achieved 1st and 2nd place – and we are incredibly proud to have been part of this amazing journey! The insights into the latest trends and challenges in coastal and marine protection were truly inspiring. We are excited to continue this journey together with TMT | Transferzentrum f. Maritime Technologien Schleswig-Holstein! -4H-JENA engineering GmbH Nadja Kinski Julia P. #OceanData #Innovation #SailingBoxes #ClimateResearch #CoastalProtection #Networking
