Shared public space is the theme of this year’s EUROPEAN MOBILITY WEEK. Shared public space also means sustainable modes. ✅ Promote public transportation and a #ModalShift, ✅ Decarbonize our fleet of vehicles, ✅ Take actions to protect and restore ecosystems, these are our 3 commitments to #SustainableMobility ! At Transdev, we continue to develop relevant alternatives to the private car, which take account of local needs and ensure optimal coverage of local areas. In particular, we are continuing our efforts to transition our fleet: by the end of 2023, the Group operated 2,900 zero-emission vehicles worldwide, and for each new project it proposes the energy solution that is best suited to local constraints: electric, biogas, biofuel... ➡ Find out more: https://lnkd.in/eJ_bQcbS #TheMobilityCompany #EuropeanMobilityWeek #MobilityWeek #SEM #SEM2024 European Commission

Ecological Transition 🌱 | #GEODIS is taking a new step towards decarbonizing its french fleet with the ongoing deployment of 31 electric tractors and 7 carriers, supported by ADEME. 🚚 This action continues our #transition to vehicles and alternative modes using decarbonized or #biosourced energies (electric hybrids, natural gas, biogas, and B100) and the installation of suitable refueling and recharging infrastructure. It contributes to GEODIS' commitments to reduce its greenhouse gas emissions by 42% (scopes 1&2) and a 30% decrease in the carbon intensity of subcontracted transportation (scope 3) by 2030 compared to the 2022 reference year.

An interesting report by Boston Consulting Group (BCG) has highlighted the importance of low-carbon technologies such as #EVs and #renewable fuels in laying a sustainable path for the transport sector. The report suggests a focus on these three steps: 1️⃣ Avoiding unnecessary motorised travel and implement behaviour change programmes, 2️⃣ Shift to less carbon-intensive modes, 3️⃣ Improve the energy and carbon efficiency of vehicles. Progress is already underway across these areas, but it needs to accelerate if we are to reach the ambitious #NetZero targets by 2030. Fast, efficient grid connections are a gamechanger when it comes to decarbonising a transport fleet, and our team at Aurora Utilities Limited are here to help. Get in touch with us to discuss if you have an upcoming development that needs fast, safe connections: www.aurora-utlities.co.uk

🎉 Yesterday, Eurogas held the 20th edition of its 'Let's Meet!' series, this time on #RoadTransport policy and the future of renewable and low-carbon gases. 🚛 We began this edition with a keynote speech by Dario Dubolino, Policy Officer in the Sustainable and Intelligent Transport Unit at DG MOVE. Dario gave us an overview of the progress that the last Commission made on #transportpolicy, dedicating tools and scaling up alternative fuels in order to decarbonise a sector full of challenges. 🚚 We then heard from a panel representing a wide range of transport perspectives. Each participant contributed to the importance of reducing transport emissions by building up #infrastructure and #funding opportunities for low-carbon alternatives, tailpipe measurements, and the sending of positive regulatory signals. 🙏 Thanks to our panel participants for joining us! ▪ Lars Mårtensson, Environment and Innovation Director at Volvo Trucks ▪ Marino Varricchio, Policy Analyst at ERCST - European Roundtable on Climate Change and Sustainable Transition ▪ Neli Karapetjan-Baranauskiene, Director of the Intermodal Department at Vlantana Watch the full event ➡ https://lnkd.in/e_ChqKHN #LetsMeet #HDVs #RoadInfrastructure #SustainableTransport #LowCarbonFuels #RenewableGases

#Norway is taking a bold step in #sustainable #transportation by building roads that can charge electric vehicles (EVs) while they’re driving. This #innovative technology, known as dynamic #wirelesscharging, allows #EVs to receive power directly from the road, significantly reducing the need for frequent stops at charging stations. This advancement is not only a game-changer for the future of electric mobility, but it also plays a vital role in promoting sustainability and achieving #zerocarbonemissions. By harnessing renewable energy sources for this charging infrastructure, Norway is paving the way for cleaner transportation and eliminating pollution associated with traditional fuel sources. As a global leader in EV adoption and infrastructure development, Norway sets an inspiring example for the rest of the world to follow in the transition towards a greener future. #Sustainability #ElectricVehicles #ZeroEmissions #CleanEnergy #DynamicCharging #GreenTransportation #Innovation #RenewableEnergy #PollutionFree #SmartInfrastructure #FutureMobility #ClimateAction #CarbonNeutral #EcoFriendly #Norway

🌊✈️ Clean aviation fuel made anywhere with a coastline, renewable energy, and seawater? That's the vision of Brineworks I spoke to the company's CEO, Gudfinnur Sveinsson, and here are some of the main highlights of what the company aims to do: 1- The company's technology produces both CO2 and H2 from the sea - essential feedstocks for e-fuels 2 - The CO2 extracted from seawater is far cheaper than what you get from DAC 3 - A more scalable and ultimately sustainable solution than taking CO2 from biogenic sources, which many E-Fuels companies seem to be currently doing 4 - Potential for localised SAF production anywhere with access to the sea 5- Has just raised funding, led by Pale blue dot You can read more about this technology and its implications for the aviation and maritime sectors at Sustainability In The Air - https://lnkd.in/e6AcacAx #SustainableAviation #CleanTech #SAF #ClimateInnovation
