Event attendance in the middle of winter is a struggle! We've come up with 5 sure fire ways for you to engage your members and promote your space even on the coldest and darkest of winter days! ❄️🥶 1. Lunch and Learn - instead of trying to get your members to turn up to night time events in winter, offer a lunchtime get together to build your community. This is a great way to allow members to talk about their services and products with feeling too sales-y. Schedule a different member talk every fortnight and provide a light lunch or get everyone to bring their own and hold the talk in your kitchen area! 2. Wellness Wednesdays - partner with a local cafe or juice bar and offer immune boosting juice shots for members on a Wednesday. Holding this in a common area promotes conversation and connection. 3. Happy Hour. A tried and true event in the coworking world, happy hour is a great way to get members to connect and wind down after a long day. Hold it on a day when your space is at its busiest and not too late in the day that people are too tired and want to go home. For a winter twist why not serve mulled wine to warm everyone up! 4. Find a fun day on your marketing calendar and celebrate it in your space - it could be National Lamington Day, World Chess Day or tell a Joke Day. For some inspo on fun days download the marketing inspo calendar from our friends at Pop Media here 👉 https://lnkd.in/gBm3CPKx 5. Organise a Scavenger Hunt in your space. Group members together in teams in order to solve clues, complete challenges, and unlock destinations as they race from place to place in pursuit of the finish line. All from the comfort and warmth of your workspace! Do you have any more ideas you can share with us? Diary of a Coworking Space Manager / Small Business Owner #0008 - Noticed that a bunch of events we're hosting around the same time all had similar slants and decided to rally them all up to create the first ever "tuesday Business Week": tinyurl.com/tbw2024 - Assembled 8 chairs and put the finishing touches on our new, ready-to-go "Light" meeting room at Düsseldorfer Strasse (see below): tinyurl.com/duessel75 - Finally added LinkedIn to our list of channels for event promotion. Here's our fairly standard "stack": Eventbrite, Facebook, Instagram, Mailchimp for externals, Gmail for internals (members), Slack for current and former members, tuesday's website, physical postering in the spaces, and now, yes, LinkedIn. Where do you promote your events? Any glaring omissions? https://lnkd.in/eS77f_tW - Kept calm and carried on wearing my "keep calm and carry on" t-shirt in the face of the election result :/ - Worked out the monthly revenue share for October that one of our landlords gets as part of our revenue share deal. Great for your cashflow at the beginning of your partnership. Long-term it's a bit of a pain to be honest.

Excited to reconnect and collaborate on your upcoming events! 🎉 After a refreshing break spent organising my home and garden with the help of my kids, I’m back and ready to work with new and current connections on their event planning needs. The past month has been a rewarding mix of productivity and relaxation, giving me a chance to recharge and focus on personal projects. 🌳👨👩👧👦 During this downtime, I tackled long-overdue garden tasks and enjoyed family activities, which recharged me and reinforced my organisational and project management skills. There’s something incredibly satisfying about tangible results from hard work, whether a thriving garden or a smoothly run event. One of the highlights of this break was setting up my home office to be an organised and knowledge-rich environment. I believe that a well-organised workspace is crucial for productivity and creativity. My office now includes maps, books, and various tools that help me stay informed and prepared for any challenges that come my way. This setup boosts my efficiency and keeps me motivated and inspired. 📚🗺️ As I open my home office door and dive back into the professional world, I'm eager to catch up on all things XG, clients, event delivery partners and planning for future projects. 💼💻 My break has reinvigorated my passion for event planning, especially in areas of health, safety, crowd management, and operational delivery. Ensuring a safe and seamless experience for all attendees is my top priority. I’m excited to bring my refreshed energy and insights to new projects. If you require assistance with your event planning, whether it’s ensuring health and safety standards, managing crowds, or overseeing operational delivery, I’m here to help. Let’s connect and discuss how we can make your next event successful. I am particularly passionate about creating events that meet and exceed safety and operational standards. My experience has taught me that attention to detail and proactive planning are key to successful event management. I am always looking for innovative ways to enhance the attendee experience while maintaining the highest safety standards. I'm looking forward to winding down this evening by relaxing in the garden, enjoying the hard work lit up by the new external lighting I’ve installed. 🔥🌟 Feel free to reach out if you need guidance and support for your events. I’m always excited to collaborate on new projects! #BackToWork #EventPlanning #HealthAndSafety #CrowdManagement #OperationalDelivery #WorkLifeBalance #LiveEvents #EventProfessionals #XG

🌄🎉 Reflecting on an Incredible Week at the Utah Parks and Recreation Conference! 🎉🌄 Last week, St. George, Utah, was abuzz with the spirit of advancement and collaboration as it hosted the Utah Parks and Recreation Conference, under the aptly chosen theme "Level Up." And wow, did they deliver on that promise! From the get-go, the energy was palpable, with attendees bringing an unmatched level of enthusiasm and engagement. The vendors weren't just participants; they were essential contributors, offering insights and solutions that were both innovative and immensely helpful. A huge shoutout to the conference organizers who truly embodied the "Level Up" theme. Their dedication and creativity set the stage for an event that was not only informative but also incredibly inspiring. Special thanks to @LeeAnnPowell McKell Christensen, and Janell Payne, MSML, CPRP, plus the entire committee, for orchestrating such a phenomenal conference. Your efforts did not go unnoticed, and the success of this event is a testament to your hard work and dedication. The Empower Group was thrilled to contribute to the conference, presenting several sessions aimed at enhancing the parks and recreation experience. Topics ranged from "Elevating your Parks & Recreation Experience" to "Getting Fulltime Engagement from Part-Time Staff," "Level Up Your Group Exercise Schedule," and "Next Level Onboarding for Seasonal and Part-Time Employees." It was a privilege to engage with such a passionate group of attendees. Our workshop, "Crafting a Comprehensive Onboarding Program," was a standout success. The interactive sessions and lively discussions underscored the community's commitment to not just meeting but exceeding expectations in parks and recreation. As we reflect on last week's events, we're filled with gratitude for the opportunity to connect, learn, and grow together. Let's carry this momentum forward, continuing to level up in all that we do! #UtahParksAndRecreationConference #LevelUp #ParksAndRecreation #ProfessionalDevelopment #EmpowerGroup #Networking #InnovationInRecreation

Is "intention" overused? Maybe, but we can't think of a better way to describe how we try to think through each aspect of our events. Bringing companies together and watching (remote?) teams form bonds is what keeps us excited to do what we do. #isitmondayyet #workplaceculture #teambuilding #corporateevents

Creating the Ideal "Unconference" Experience Outdoors This past weekend, we had the privilege of hosting CMC's FemFest at our Mowbray property, where we embraced the outdoors to create the perfect event setting. The open-air experience brought out the best in each participant, sparking genuine connections, creativity, and joy in the way only a natural environment can. When hosting an outdoor event like an unconference, there are a few core considerations: Flexibility and Comfort: A mix of structured and unstructured spaces allows attendees to interact as they wish. Comfortable seating, shaded areas, and designated zones for different activities can make the experience feel both relaxed and organized. Natural Ambience and Connectivity: Nature itself adds an irreplaceable dimension to the experience. Thoughtfully chosen locations—like our Mowbray property, with its ample outdoor space and natural beauty—provide an ideal environment. These spaces don’t just accommodate, but they inspire, allowing for genuine, refreshing exchanges. Participant Engagement: Unconferences thrive on active participation. Creating an agenda with open slots for attendee-led sessions encourages people to share their expertise, collaborate on projects, or discuss challenges that matter to them. Accessibility and Practicality: While the outdoor setting is key, logistical aspects like restrooms, easy access to indoor areas if needed, and options for food and drink ensure a seamless experience. It’s all about creating an experience where nature meets comfort. Let's #unconference together!
