This was a fun exercise. I was asked whether Innokaupungit - Innocities have innovation districts. I couldn't answer right away because I wasn't sure about the definition. I checked a definition and made a list based on my understanding. Here are some things that I found: 📑 Four cities hadn't any specific area mentioned in their ecosystem agreement. 🏗 Kera (Espoo), Hiedanranta (Tampere) and Savilahti (Kuopio) are probably the most prominent city districts that are developing at the moment and that have the potential to become innovation districts. 📍 Turku Science Park is a good benchmark for creating a thriving innovation district. Helsinki has identified six innovation districts, one of which is Pasila, where I live. Obviously, it is an innovation district. Why else would I live there? 🤷♀️

Neighbourhoods should be made for people, and that is why they should also have a saying🗣️ While #citizen engagement is an essential process, it is not an obvious one. ✨ Today we introduce you to Upper Austria, one of the regions where our pilot projects will take place! 🇦🇹 The Upper Austria region is characterised by a dynamic development and economic prosperity. In general, with exceptions, at present there is no cooperation between the companies in the industrial parks. Everyone optimizes intensively right up to the fence of their property; there is usually no awareness of the neighbors' processes and cooperation potential. 💚 Several parks are developing cooperation activities. Each park is unique with regard to the type of actors and status of development. In total, 50+ companies are or were involved in the activities. Initiatives addressed specific energy-related #cooperation, but also #networking activities and knowledge exchange for making better decisions. On May 17th, the Politecnico di Torino hosted the #Unite!Widening workshop.
