With about 20% of maternal deaths caused by suicide, providing preventative care has never been more critical. At our company retreat this year, we decided we needed to step up and provide more support to our high-risk moms, knowing that the current options were not serving them well. Next month, we are launching 1:1 care management and triage, providing availability for elevated-risk patients to talk with a licensed clinical social worker within 48 hours of onboarding with Canopie. We know that compassionate, individualized care makes a huge difference—research by JAMA Psychiatry shows that personalized outreach can reduce suicide risk by 30%. We’re committed to doing our part.
