HIGHLIGHT OF THE WEEK! 🙌🏼 I got to meet A LOT of human beings, IN PERSON! Cool ones too, the passionate about changing the world, type of folk. Seriously, RE+ was amazing, how fitting it was so close to Disneyland, as it did feel like the most magical place on earth. It was inspiring to see all the amazing work going on throughout the clean energy landscape. It was also encouraging to hear so many leaders share that, whilst the year has not been without challenges, businesses have been thriving in our space. I was thrilled about the feedback of the value I was bringing in assisting them, as they scale their teams to keep up with their growth demands. Finding utility-scale solar/BESS experienced technical SME's in SCADA/EMS/ADMS/DERMS systems was such a common struggle for many. So, it genuinely made me happy that the introductions I made to my network, helped make their lives easier and their business goals achievable. Plus, the cafe did a solid iced matcha. What more could you possibly ask for in life... Attending RE+ and meeting so many dynamic leaders whom I could help (if you're one of them and we didn't connect, DM me!) was my highlight. As we mark the one-year anniversary of our Novice Programme for Dual Fuel Smart Meter Engineers, it's a time for celebration and reflection. Over the past year, we've seen an amazing transformation from newcomers to experts, and it's definitely something worth remembering.🎉🙌 When we started this journey, our goal was simple: to nurture talent and connect newbies with experienced professionals in the smart meter field. We aimed to create a program that not only taught technical skills but also built confidence and capability in our participants. What followed was a year packed with hard work, dedication, and tons of learning moments. Right from the start, we embraced the idea of taking individuals from scratch to excellence, guiding them through a thorough training program. Through hands-on sessions, mentorship, and continuous feedback, we watched as our participants evolve into skilled engineers, ready to tackle the challenges of the modern energy world. As we celebrate reaching this milestone, we're super proud of all the program graduates. Each one has not only mastered technical skills but has also shown outstanding teamwork, leadership, and resilience. They are the living proof of our program's success, and we can't wait to see what they'll achieve in the future. Looking forward, our commitment remains strong. We'll keep investing in talent, driving innovation, and shaping the future of smart meter engineering. Europe’s Green Job Growth Slows as Solar Workforce Expansion Stalls in 2024 The growth of green jobs in Europe is slowing, with the solar sector predicting only a 0.4% increase in workforce in 2024. After a 27% rise in 2023, the sector is expected to grow modestly, from 826,000 workers in 2023 to 830,000 in 2024, due to slower solar deployment and difficulties in manufacturing. The workforce stagnation is attributed to reduced solar installations as the energy crisis subsides and system inflexibilities hinder expansion. Additionally, European solar manufacturing has faced significant challenges over the past year, leading to production slowdowns and job cuts.
