O Today’s Morning Health Talks, part of the EIT Health Porto - Porto4Ageing initiative, emphasized the critical role of Open Innovation in advancing healthcare. Each participant brought unique insights that foster collaborative solutions. These discussions, enriched by diverse perspectives from academia, industry, and healthcare professionals, underscore the importance of integrating different points of view and expertise to develop innovative, user-centered approaches to healthcare challenges. Are multi-stakeholder and cross-sector collaborations in healthcare sustainable? 💡 This topic was greatly discussed at today’s international Tour de Health'24 conference with inspiring knowledge sharing and networking between high-level governmental, non-governmental and other healthcare stakeholders from Denmark and the 13 Danish health diplomacy countries 🌎 At the venue of Danish Industry, the conference programme featured thought provoking keynote speeches, panel debates, and breakout sessions. “Are public-private strategic partnerships in Life Science sustainable?”, Maria Kristiansen, Professor and Head of Center, University of Copenhagen, discussed during her keynote followed by a panel debate on whether international multi-stakeholder and sector collaboration in healthcare is sustainable or not 🌱 Diana Arsovic, CEO, Danish Life Science Cluster , introduced the Danish public-private partnership Lighthouse Life Science to address chronic diseases followed by a panel debate with selected stakeholders who represent the coalition of the partnership. The panelists discussed the potential of the Lighthouse Life Science to catalyze innovative and equitable action on healthy weight and mental health while simultaneously drive economic growth. 💡 Elevate your knowledge at our master class, "Innovation and knowledge brokering: linking evidence and decision making," at #EHMA2024. Healthcare managers at the regional and local levels are often the first to identify the need for transformation and innovation within the sector. They develop innovative solutions and seek out best practices globally, understanding how to adapt these innovations to their specific contexts. However, successful implementation often requires the support of national policymakers, and at times, those in other sectors like education, labour, and social policy. This may involve changes to regulatory frameworks and payment mechanisms to ensure alignment with innovative solutions. Knowledge brokering is crucial in this process, facilitating the dissemination of evidence and innovative practices to national policymakers.
