"Enhancing the knowledge and capacity of key stakeholders to promote regular migration pathway, reduce irregular migration, and improve reintegration outcomes for returnees contributing to better migration governance in Nigeria", was the main objective of a 3-Day GIZ partners workshop tagged "Safe Migration for All: Building Capacity and Promoting Awareness for Regular Migration Pathways in Nigeria" that took place from 5-7 November 2024 in Abuja FCT, Nigeria. The 3-day workshop organized for GIZ partners/focal points in Nigeria on "SAFE, ORDERLY and REGULAR MIGRATION" by the Nigerian-German Centre for Migration and Development (ZME) in collaboration with the Civil Society Network on Migration and Development (CSOnetMADE), and Federal Ministry of Labour and Employment. The workshop employed a combination of interactive, informative sessions, case studies, group discussions, and expert presentations. Participants actively engaged in learning, sharing experiences, and formulating action plans to address migration challenges in Nigeria, and emphasis placed on practical knowledge, collaboration and advocacy skills. At the end of the workshop, participants were equipped with the tools, insights, and strategies needed to promote safe and regular migration with the aim to contribute to a safer and more equitable migration landscape, within Nigeria, ECOWAS region and on the global stage. Participants learnt about building collaborations and advocacy for Effective Migration Governance, as well as advocacy/influencing strategies to enhance migration governance and management in Nigeria through effective advocacy and policy reform, contributing to reduced reliance on irregular migration routes. ACIED Africa is thankful to GIZ Nigeria, the Nigerian-German Centre for Migration and Development, and Civil Society Network on Migration and Development (CSOnetMADE) for this opportunity, and particularly recognizing the achievements of our previous work on promotion of SAFE, ORDERLY and REGULAR Migration, Women's Voices in Migration Decisions, and Campaign Against Human Trafficking in various Nigerian communities. We are indeed committed to this partnership. #ACIEDAFRICA #DevelopmentDashboard #CSOnetMADE #NigerianYouth #GIZNigeria #ECOWASCommision #centreformigrationanddevelopmentZME #NCFRMI #FMLE #AFRIDAC #ECOWASprotocolsonfreemovementofpersons #PCI
