NSW Government has announced that we’ve received planning approval for a grid-scale battery at Tomago in NSW. Our General Manager of Power Development and Energy Hubs, Travis Hughes, said this exciting announcement marks another important step in the development process of the battery. “We welcome planning approval from the NSW Minister for Planning for AGL’s Tomago battery. The 500 MW 4-hour grid-scale battery has the potential to provide additional firming capacity for AGL’s NSW customers. It will also contribute towards AGL’s ambition to add 12 GW of renewables and firming to our portfolio by 2035. Planning approval is an important milestone as we progress our development plans ahead of a final investment decision in 2025.” Read more → https://lnkd.in/gDGVV9Av #EnergyTransition #GridScaleBattery
Great milestone! More to follow and we are delivering on our large development pipeline!
Great news AGL!
A good example what our farm lands will look like in the future. Would like to see the true whole of life cost footprint and what will happen (in 30 years ? ) when the panels need replacing and the recycling affects commences.
A great milestone for us to achieve as we pursue our goals to transition the AGL portfolio.
Congratulations to AGL. Hopefully CORNEX can support this BESS project in the future. This is my email, vince@cornexbattery.com
Congratulations!

1mo4 Hours of battery life at a cost a billion dollars? Surely that’s gotta be a joke!
