The hiring market in Qatar can be incredibly challenging, and it can sometimes be difficult to understand the criteria used for shortlisting candidates. I know a talented and hardworking professional who has been seeking job opportunities for over two years without even securing an interview, despite demonstrating outstanding leadership skills in previous roles. This reflects a wider issue, where highly qualified and capable individuals struggle to find roles where they can truly contribute. It’s especially tough for men, as many businesses appear to prioritize women as the face of their brand, potentially narrowing the opportunities for skilled male professionals. I hope to see more equitable and professional recruitment practices that prioritize qualifications, experience, and potential impact. Giving chances to those who can make a real difference would greatly benefit both businesses and the broader workforce in Qatar. I’ve started to feel that many of the job postings on LinkedIn and Indeed may not always be genuine. If anyone knows of a legitimate vacancy in management, customer service, or sales, please let me know, as I know someone who has been actively searching for two years without success. This dedicated individual has exceptional leadership skills, and it’s frustrating to see how difficult it has been for him to find a role. It would be great to see more fair and transparent hiring practices that connect talented professionals with the opportunities they deserve.
