#CriticalLift #TechnipEnergies #AHC #Lifting A "critical lift" is defined as any non-routine crane lift requiring detailed planning and additional or unusual safety precautions. Critical lifts include: lifts made where the load weight is greater than 75% of the rated capacity of the crane; lifts which require load to be lifted, swung or placed out of the operator's view ; lifts made with more than one crane; lifts involving non-routine/technically difficult rigging arrangement; hoisting personnel with a crane or derrick; or any lift which the crane operator believes should be critical. #Construction #Safety #Lifting #TEN #AHC #EGYPT #Safelifting

ROUGH TERRAIN CRANE A rough terrain (RT) crane is a mobile crane that is capable of maneuvering in unpacked, uneven ground, as well as lifting in confined spaces. They are made especially for rough locations, so they’re built differently than other types of cranes. This type of crane tends to have a wider base and wheels, which is what gives them great stability. Their wheels are also taller than the average crane’s because they need additional clearance to move easily on uneven ground without risking damage to the machine. They have four-wheel drive and power-steering, which helps make maneuvering in rough terrains manageable. Heavy crane safety fail! Video below highlights failure of lifting equipment due to improper load calculation and inadequate rigging. As the excavator ascends, its weight shifts, putting uneven stress on the boom and cables, causing the center of gravity to move outside its safe zone. Why this happen? 🔹️ Incorrect lifting procedures 🔹️ Exceeding Safe Working Load (SWL) 🔹️ Absence of SLI 🔹️ Shifting Center of Gravity (CG) 🔹️ Incompetent crane operators 🔹️ Failure to conduct a risk assessment 🔹️ Inadequate lifting plan or judgment Does your lifting equipment properly maintain? **Tower Crane Daily Safety Checks** **Daily Pre-Start Checks and Anti-Collision Tests** Before a tower crane is put into operation each day, it is essential to conduct thorough daily pre-start checks and anti-collision tests. This is especially crucial on days with adverse weather conditions, such as icy conditions, as frozen hoist drums and sheaves can prevent the crane from hoisting. **Pre-Start Checks** Pre-start checks involve a comprehensive inspection of the crane, including: * Checking tower bolts during the climb up * Visually inspecting the drums, sheaves, and other components on the back jib * Conducting additional visual checks of the crane's overall condition **Anti-Collision Tests** After completing the pre-start checks, the crane operators must perform anti-collision tests with any neighboring cranes. These tests ensure that the cranes can operate safely without colliding with each other. **Safety First** The commitment to safety demonstrated by the London Tower Cranes team at the Vistry Group project in Beam Park is commendable. Their thorough pre-start checks and anti-collision tests exemplify the importance of prioritizing safety in all crane operations. **Communication** Given the close proximity of three saddle jib cranes and two luffing cranes, it is crucial to maintain situational awareness before changing directions. In addition to radios, this site is equipped with Blockcam and block alert systems, which enhance safety and communication. Riggers: Know Your Load Weights! Before lifting, you must determine the actual load weight and the total weight that will be lifted by the crane. This includes the load itself, any lifting accessories, and the weight of the crane block and rope. Here are some tips for calculating the total load weight: Weigh the load: If possible, weigh the load to determine its actual weight. Estimate the weight of the lifting accessories: This includes the weight of any slings, chains, shackles, and other hardware that will be used to lift the load. Estimate the weight of the crane block: The crane block is the part of the crane that is attached to the load. Its weight will vary depending on the size and type of crane. Estimate the weight of the crane rope: The weight of the crane rope will also vary depending on the size and type of crane. Once you have determined the total load weight, you can use it to determine the appropriate crane to lift the load. You should also make sure that the crane is rated for the total weight of the load. Please note that it is important to be accurate when calculating the total load weight. An incorrect estimate could lead to an unsafe lift. I hope this information is helpful! #adnoc #epc #cranelift #lifting #project #construction ##uae #wireropesafety #offshore #onshore #hse #healthandsafety #inspaction #safety

To operate an EOT crane, skills are required, and along with that, we need to exercise caution while operating it, and there are some protocols related to it that must be followed. EOT cranes are used to lift heavy loads, and if not used correctly, it can lead to serious issues. Keeping these things in mind, safety precautions tips have been given. -> Training and certification:- Operators should be trained in operating EOT cranes, handling related issues, and ensuring that they can deal with any problem. They should be familiar with safety features. They should be certified professionals. -> Pre-operation inspection: There should be an inspection of anything related to the crane, checking if anything is broken or damaged, before the crane starts. -> Load capacity: Every crane has its own loading capacity, and you should never load more than its capacity, as it can lead to the risk of load imbalance. -> Proper rigging: It is essential to ensure that the rigging equipment for lifting any load by the crane is functioning correctly so that you can focus on safety by using the right technique. -> Clear communication: There should be proper communication among the workers, especially while working, whether they are operating a radio remote control or using any other equipment. -> Avoid overloading: Never overload the crane with a load or any object that has an awkward shape and can disrupt the balance. -> Slow and controlled movement: If we need to make any sudden changes in our work, we need to slow down the crane's movement to control sudden ups and downs. -> Emergency stop: Crane operators should know how to use the emergency stop button during emergencies or in case of any malfunction in any part of the crane. -> Observe surroundings: In the area around the crane, we should pay attention to ensure that there are no obstacles or any other items that could create hindrances. Caution should be exercised in such matters. We all know that due to these safety features, we can stay safe and avoid accidents or injuries. We all want a good safe environment in our work area, in our surroundings, so it is essential to follow safety protocols for heavy machines like cranes. #SafetyFirst #WorkplaceSafety #SafetyAwareness #SafetyAtWork #SafeWorkEnvironment #SafetyTraining #SafetyStandards
