LOADING OF DRY BULK ON OFFSHORE PSV/OSV VESSELS. My last post, I explained simple steps to follow for dry bulk operation. Below is the process for loading of dry bulk. After obtaining Cargo manifest, MSDS and all other safety measures for safe operation, below is the following steps for loading. 1. Switch on the control panel in the wheel house. 2. Carry out lamp and alarm buzzer test to make sure they are functioning. 3. Open control air the valve control cabinet 4. Confirm that hose is connected for both vent and receiving and vent hose in water. 5. Open vent V/V, fill V/V and common V/V for fill/discharge. 6. Confirm that deck manifold V/V for both vent and load/disch manifold are open. 7. Inform the Truck or Rig to start blowing first for about 3-5 minutes, to make sure the lines are free. 8. After blowing, then loading commence. 9. when the tank is almost full, high level alarm lamp lit and buzzer sounds. At this point you can change tank if the product is not complete. 10. when product is complete, the fill line is purged with air supply station to make sure the lines are free. 11. The fill v/v, vent v/v and common line valve is close. 12. Close the deck manifold valve and then disconnect the hose. 13. shut down power of the control panel from the wheel house and call the ECR to close control air. Above is the full process for loading dry bulk on-board.
