I am pleased to announce that my team's business idea, Adamant, has won the winning prize in the green innovation and entrepreneurship competition, GAEA, winning the cash prize of one thousand euros. The GAEA is held under the scientific responsibility of the UNESCO Chair for Green Innovation and Circular Economy at NTUA and is organized by Mantis Beyond Innovation. I would like to thank mantis beyond innovation, consulting company, creator and manager of the National Registry of Young Entrepreneurs, Elevate Greece. Most of all, thanks to our team's business mentors, Vassilis Athanasiadis and Demosthenes Kanelakis. Also thanks to the members of my amazing team, the inimitable Philippos Xagoraris, Marios Ziokos and especially to Spyros Cheirdaris for today's presentation. Europe is launching an initiative to accelerate its green and digital transition. The Green Alternatives for European Autonomy (GAEA) competition was launched on Wednesday 20 March and includes a series of regional and inter-regional innovation competitions in eight (😎 countries: Greece, Serbia, Poland, Slovakia, Slovakia, Lithuania, Latvia, Hungary, Latvia and the Czech Republic. Why is the GAEA Challenge competition important? In a world facing critical environmental challenges and the imperative of sustainable development, Europe aims to take a leading role. GAEA aims to create and accelerate innovative solutions that can address contemporary challenges related to the European Green Deal and the impact of the Russia-Ukraine war. By setting up similar innovation competitions in eight (😎 countries, GAEA aims to strengthen its reach across Europe and enable the whole process from idea generation to start-up creation. As a child new toys were always fascinating for me not because they were new but because I got to look inside and marvel and learn from the ingenuity of the person who created it. Last weekend (21-22 June) was nothing short of that exhilarating feeling for me.   I had the honour of being a Judge at the Hult Prize Foundation Lisbon Summit. We had 52 startups from 20+ Universities represented by students of 30+ different nationalities. The had all won their campus events to join us in Sunny & Windy Lisbon.   Hult Prize encourages students to develop social enterprises that create lasting impact on the planet addressing the 17 United Nations Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs). This year they had an open category and boy were we amazed with what the students built.   Clean Water, Soil Hydration, Neurochips, Coffee Grind Biochar, Ventilator Infection reductions, Waste Flower recycling, Cricket Protein meals, Insulin Monitoring, Sand based energy storage, Farm to table meal kits, Low cost Insulation … the list goes on!!   The Hult Prize team (Hamdi Ben Elmi, Ghada Ferchichi Camila Gonzalez Paciello & Eya Feguiri) and the countless ISEG - Lisbon School of Economics & Management volunteer students put together a spectacular event. I got to learn a lot from my fellow Judges (Bruno Miguel Pires, Jennifer Brady, Manuel Andrade, Sandro Batista, Howard Lichtman, Paula Oliveira, Laura Stocco, Alice Segre, Francisco Lino Marques, Alexandra Clare, Igor Paparoto) all industry leaders in their own right.   What left me most satisfied about the two days was the ingenuity that the students showed in developing ideas, prototypes and in some cases, revenue generating products all in a span of 12 months. Goes to show that today’s young generation is not all about Tick-Tock and becoming influencers, there are scores (10k+ in this round of Hult Prize) that are taking the challenge head-on in trying to make the world a better place, and some with fascinating stories of entrepreneurship.   Can’t wait to see who wins the finals on 6th Sep in London. But for me all the startups that participated across the globe are all winners!

During Upstream Festival, the Erasmus Centre for Entrepreneurship presented the #Top250NL, recognizing the fastest-growing companies in the Netherlands 🌟 Growing fast is one thing, but sustaining growth over a longer period can be incredibly challenging. In today’s rapidly digitalizing world, it raises the question of whether looking at FTEs is the only way to measure a firm’s growth. This year, we’re seeing a rise in companies that combine high growth with positive societal impact. It is time to say goodbye to PATEC (Passau Entrepreneurial Campus) as my employer, the best project at the University of Passau 🧡 I was lucky to work here as a Student assistant (SHK) the last semester. Thank you Christiane Walther for believing in my PR and social media skills. It was very intense and full of events semester. I have learned so many things and definitely improved my PR & communication skills 🎤 . And I want to share with you a highlight of this Semester - a project branded with my name “Julia is asking” 😊 and dedicated to Global Entrepreneurship Week in November. My meeting with PATEC started 2 years ago when I applied to participate in Gründerinnen Akademie 👭 for female Entrepreneurs with the idea of a B2B SaaS learning platform for online tools, I continue with the "Honours Degree" with the idea of Bavarian courses ⛰ for employees and I finish my participation in the project this semester with the 💶 5-Euro-Business competition with Terminly - booking platform for SMEs in the beauty sphere in Germany.
