Do you see yourself as a role model? Joey Lee Miranda shares her take on Leadership and Visibility on the Podcast Pioneers at Work! In our recent insightful discussion, Joey highlighted a pivotal aspect of leadership that often goes unnoticed: the inadvertent role model. She eloquently shared how sports, music, and acting figures usually find themselves in roles they didn't initially seek. Yet, they stand as pivotal examples to others, showcasing the profound impact of visibility in leadership. Joey reminded us of the essential truth, "If you see it, you can be it." This principle beautifully encapsulates why visibility is crucial. People observe and learn from how we manage our roles, emphasizing the need to acknowledge and take our capacity to inspire and lead seriously. Let's all recognize our potential to influence and guide by example. It's not just about fulfilling our ambitions but also about illuminating the path for others. Whether you identify as a leader, a pioneer, or a trailblazer, you can shape perceptions and motivate action. As we continue our pioneering journeys, Joey inspires us to embrace role modeling. By leading intentionally, we clarify the route for those who will follow. That is what pioneering is all about! #Leadership #RoleModels #WomenInLeadership #Inspiration #Pioneer Listen here to this inspiring and insightful episode with pioneer Joey Lee Miranda and subscribe to hear more stories of people pioneering today. https://lnkd.in/gnQah_nf

In this second clip from my recent FIR Podcast Network interview, Neville Hobson and Shel Holtz, SCMP asked me how business leaders can be persuaded of the value of 'applied science fiction'. There will always be skepticism, despite the many examples of high-profile people who acknowledge SF as an inspiration. The point is to harness that doubt, so you can make an even better case for building imaginative capability across your organisation. As we approach the end of October, the pressure is mounting for many in this final quarter of the year. Early in my career as a manager, I often found myself fixated on business targets, losing sight of the human element within my team. I thought results were driven purely by strategy and numbers—until I had the privilege of working under Carolyn Park, who showed me how wrong I was. Carolyn helped me recognize the powerful link between empathy and impact. She guided me in regulating my emotions, showing me that understanding and connecting with my team was just as critical as meeting the numbers. This shift didn’t just change my perspective; it changed my results. Later, as I applied these lessons with my own team, I saw firsthand how focusing on people alongside business goals led to better outcomes across the board. In the latest episode of What’s Your Forecast?, I sat down with Ben Arendt , founder of Depth Charge Consulting, to discuss this very topic. Ben’s insights on the balance of emotional intelligence in leadership, and his perspective on where the future of management is headed, really hit home. If you haven’t yet listened to the episode, it’s available now—link in the comments. #Leadership #EmotionalIntelligence atlantiq AI
