Totally agree with you UN Women.. Women's organizations are indeed at the forefront of the battle to end violence against women and girls. These organizations, led by women and driven by their experiences and perspectives, are uniquely positioned to develop effective solutions to address the root causes of violence and discrimination. By funding women's rights groups, we can amplify their impact, support their advocacy efforts, and help them reach more women and girls with critical services and support. ■This, in turn, accelerates #progress toward a world where women and girls can live free from #violence and #fear. ■Funding women's rights groups is a strategic investment in creating a more just and equitable world. ■It enables these organizations to scale up their work, build their capacity, and advocate for policies and laws that protect women's rights. By supporting women-led organizations, we can help shift the balance of power and create opportunities for women to take leadership roles in their communities. ■This, in turn, can lead to more sustainable, inclusive, and effective solutions to the complex problems facing women and girls. ■By standing in solidarity with women's rights groups, we can create a brighter, more just future for all. A campaign very close to my heart has been released by UN Women UK linked to their work to end gender-based violence. The focus is on tackling Femicide which is the ultimate and most brutal manifestation of violence against women and girls. With 140 women and girls worldwide loosing their lives every day at the hands of their partner or a close relative in 2023; #UNwomenuk work is more important than ever. Today is International Day for the Elimination of Violence Against Women and marks the beginning of 16 Days of Activism Against Gender-Based violence, this year’s campaign encourages all Victorians to work together to prevent violence against women. this year's theme being "Respect is,,,". At FAN we will be participating in this year's campaign, we will continue to support women experience intersecting forms of discrimination via our services. The team at FAN will educate and advocate for a world without gender-based violence. More than 1 in 3 women have experienced men’s violence. On average, a woman is killed by a man she knows every 10 days, and in 2024 that number is much higher. All of us have the power to change that by respecting women wherever we live, learn, work and play.
