Fantastic news today as consent is granted for the Sheringham Shoal and Dudgeon offshore wind farm Extension Projects! The consent enables: - The capacity of the existing wind farms to be doubled, providing renewable energy to power an additional 785,000 UK homes 🏠 - More than 1,800 full time jobs per year to be supported during the construction phase across the UK and within East Anglia 👷♂️ 👷♀️ - Over £370 million in direct gross value added (GVA) to be generated in the UK economy The Extension Projects have been developed carefully over the last five years, with innovative approaches to transmission planning and consenting, underpinned by close engagement with the local community. Congratulations. Perhaps Equinor can now throw its weight behind the campaign for an offshore grid, or at least cable burial from Norwich to Tilbury, to prevent fantastic individual projects like this being associated with blighting thousands of lives with 50m pylons despoiling the last remaining unspoiled pockets of East Anglia.

Having personally worked on the original project at Sheringham Shoal i would relish a chance to get involved on the extention
