Fear. It’s real. Even when there is no danger, fear can influence our thoughts and our feelings. It shapes our behaviour. Fear. A False Emotion Appearing Real (as one of my teachers Pauline Nguyen once shared), can present differently for different people. So, soften your heart and connect with compassion. Try to connect with what you can't outwardly see in others (and yourself). Try to see beyond the surface and appreciate the unseen battles that everyone is facing. When we see through a lens of compassion, we’re more likely to create genuine emotional connections – which is what we are neurologically designed for. A little kindness can go a long way. #compassion #mentalhealth #selfalignment #connection

Do you ever find yourself wondering why you react a certain way in relationships? Maybe you avoid conflict, overgive, or struggle to ask for what you need. These patterns often come from the unspoken messages you absorbed as a child—things like “Don’t cry,” “Love means sacrifice,” or “Your needs aren’t as important.” These beliefs may still be shaping how you connect with others today. But here’s the good news: you don’t have to stay stuck in those old narratives. Together, we can explore where these messages came from, how they’re holding you back, and ways to rewrite them into something that serves you better. #Abuse #HealthyRelationships #AveryNeal #RelationshipAdvice #HealthyHabits ##EmotionalWellness #HealthyBoundaries #MentalHealthMatters #AnxietySupport #SelfCareTips #TraumaHealing #DivorceCoParenting #MindfulRelationships

Validating our own emotions is just as important as validating others. Sometimes, we can be our own harshest critics, judging ourselves for feeling a certain way or thinking we shouldn’t be feeling what we do. But the truth is, every emotion we experience is valid and deserves to be acknowledged. When we practice self-validation, we create a kinder, more compassionate inner environment. This helps us be more accepting of ourselves, boosts our emotional resilience, and leads to a greater sense of well-being. By allowing ourselves to feel without judgment, we can better navigate life’s ups and downs with strength and understanding. #selfvalidation #bekindtoyourself #emotionalresilience #selfcompassionjourney #selfacceptance #mentalwellbeing #innerpeace #feelyourfeelings #emotionalstrength #youarevalid

In life, it’s often less about being “right” or “wrong” and more about the intentions behind our actions. Everyone’s sense of right and wrong is shaped by their experiences, values, and beliefs, which means what feels right to one person may seem entirely wrong to another. But intentions—the true motivations in our hearts—speak a language that goes beyond personal views of right and wrong. When intentions are pure and honest, even if there are misunderstandings or disagreements, there’s a foundation of respect and trust. You feel safe knowing the other person means well. But when intentions are hidden or self-serving, even if the words sound “right,” something feels off. It’s in these moments that we can sense that someone may not be fully open or truthful, and that can create distance and doubt. Instead of getting lost in who's right or wrong, it’s wise to tune into the intentions behind actions. If someone’s heart is genuine, we can find common ground, even in disagreement. And if intentions aren’t clear, sometimes it’s best to step back, let them show themselves over time, and protect our peace. After all, intentions shape our actions, and true connections are built on honesty, kindness, and trust—not just on “right” answers. #MentalHealth #Psychologist #IntentionsMatter #Authenticity #Trust #Empathy #SelfGrowth #EmotionalWellbeing #HealingJourney #ChooseKindness #PsychologyInsights

We all have voices in our minds telling us things. Trying to avoid them is pointless. Telling you to avoid or control the voices - or thoughts - in your mind is pointless. Your thoughts will come and go as they please. It’s what thoughts do. They creep in: "Nothing ever works out anyway." "I always mess things up." "I never get it right." Your job is not to stop them from coming. But to pay attention and notice them. Begin by writing down what they are telling you. Question them. How do you feel about these thoughts? How are the thoughts benefiting you? How are they trying to protect you? Challenge your thoughts. Have a debate with yourself. Counter-argue what they’re saying. Notice the difference in your emotions. How are you feeling now? Where do you feel it in your body? The question that works best for me is: Would I talk to a child like I’m talking to myself? The answer is almost always, No! #selftalk #healingprocess #healingjourney #empowerment #empowermentcoach #emotionalawareness #vawg #genderbasedviolence #survivors #selfdiscovery #personalgrowth
