I have just completed the Department of the Prime Minister and Cabinet survey seeking input on the Future of Government Services. Have your say by following the link below. This is part of the Long-term Insights Briefings project under the #APSReform agenda. The topic for the current briefing is ‘The future of government services’. The project's focus is to understand what human and social services Australia needs in the future to help people live good lives and how communities, organisations, Governments, and others can work together to design and deliver services. PMC says that the project findings will provide an evidence base that government agencies can use to inform the future of government policy-making, decision-making and engagement with communities. Your perspectives are essential for helping understand community expectations and concerns. They will help shape the insights for the briefing and support public institutions in being prepared for potential transformations. https://lnkd.in/g2zwX3e7

Really enjoyed reading the LCP Building Better Financial Futures report yesterday. The top takeaways for us at MONEY FIRST AID: 🏥 The % of employees who have experienced financial difficulty in the last 12 months has increased to 54% 💷 More than three in five employees (63%) have borrowed for basic financial needs in the last year 🗣 Depending on the age group, 20-35% of employees don't feel comfortable talking to their line manager about their development, mentoring and coaching, workplace benefits or personal concerns. Training Money First Aiders across the organisation can give your employees somewhere to go to discuss financial difficulty, covering the costs of basic financial needs, and other financial challenges that may be affecting them personally or professionally. They can be line managers or trusted colleagues. Thank you Heidi J Allan for putting so much work in to this research report! Link below for those that want to read. What should the Northern Ireland Executive's priorities be? Just two weeks left to respond to the Programme for Government consultation (deadline is Monday 4 November). This is an important opportunity to have a say on what the Executive does. Some suggestions of things to consider: 1. Are the nine priorities the right ones? Is anything missing? 2. Are programmes and funding in place to achieve the priorities? 3. Should there be specific performance indicators and/or targets? 4. How will Ministers and civil servants be held to account? 5. How will the nine priorities influence future decision-making e.g. funding allocations? Read the draft Programme for Government and find details of the consultation here https://lnkd.in/dYswnrMD

⭐Kick-Off Meeting and Community Workshop for Southwest Ramallah Cluster Implementation! ⭐ We’re thrilled to announce the launch of the second cluster implementation in Southwest Ramallah. On May 30th, 2024, VNG International and NCD, our planning partner, held a kick-off meeting to set the project in motion. With a 13-month timeline ahead, Project Manager Saleh Khalalileh outlined the journey and anticipated challenges. Fast forward to June 8th, 2024, we hosted our first community workshop in Kafr N'imeh, bringing together heads of Local Authorities (LAs), community representatives from education, health, and the private sector, and key team members from VNG International and NCD. The goal was to explain the project’s significance, objectives, and expected outcomes. A critical outcome of the workshop was the establishment of the project’s technical committee and thematic groups. LAs were actively engaged in nominating representatives to participate in the Technical Committee, which now boasts a composition of 12 members. This committee includes representatives from LAs, the Joint Service Council for Planning, the Ministry of Local Government (MoLG) and MoLG directorate. Furthermore, participants were encouraged to express their interest in joining thematic groups aligned with their expertise or interests. Four distinct thematic groups were defined to oversee different facets of the project: 🔧 Infrastructure: Water, wastewater, solid waste management, environment, transport, energy, and telecommunications. 💼 Local Economy: Agriculture, commerce, industry, and tourism. 🏥 Social Services: Education, health, youth affairs, women's and children's services, and social welfare. 🏘️ Planning: Physical planning, housing, and cultural/natural heritage preservation. The workshop concluded with a clear framework of roles and responsibilities, setting the stage for collaborative efforts to achieve the project’s objectives. As Southwest Ramallah prepares to embark on this transformative journey, the groundwork laid during these foundational meetings promises a future marked by sustainable development and community prosperity. #BuildingBetterFutures #LocalGovernment #CommunityDevelopment #SustainableGrowth #SouthwestRamallah #NCD Amal Odeh (EMBA, SHRM CP) Saleh Khalailah Miriam Collaris Yara Nasser Bashar Juma'a Sytske Post

Enclosed is Official Document No. 24/CV-BCDTKNQ18 of the Steering Committee for Implementation of Resolution No. 18-NQ/TW, dated December 18, 2024: Regarding the arrangement and streamlining of provincial and district-level People's Committees. The main points are as follows: (i) Objective: To streamline the organizational structure of provincial and district-level People's Committees, reduce administrative units, and enhance operational efficiency. This is in line with the Government's efforts to reform and improve the administrative apparatus. (ii) Provincial Level: Proposals include merging similar departments to reduce the total number to 14-15, while adjusting their functions and responsibilities to ensure alignment with local needs and legal requirements. (iii) District Level: Focus on consolidating related offices, reducing administrative units, and cutting redundant positions to optimize the district-level administrative apparatus. (iv) Public Service Units: Emphasis on significantly reducing non-autonomous public service units, restructuring ineffective organizations, and fostering self-sustainability within the public service sector. (v) Implementation: Each locality is required to develop and submit a detailed reorganization plan, ensure adequate preparation in terms of personnel and budget, and only proceed after receiving approval from the competent authorities. The reorganization and streamlining of the administrative apparatus are essential requirements to enhance the efficiency of state management and better meet the needs of citizens and businesses. This is a crucial step toward realizing the Party's and State's administrative reform goals while laying the foundation for sustainable socio-economic development in the new phase. -------------------------- #VSE #VSE_LAWYERS
