Chronic bronchitis and emphysema constitute the diseases that make up Chronic Obstructive Pulmonary Disease (COPD). About 25 million people live with asthma as well. Understanding and Managing Interstitial Lung Disease 🫁 😮💨 This blog discusses Interstitial Lung Disease (ILD), which is a progressive disease characterised by worsening fibrosis and increasingly severe respiratory symptoms. Sufferers may also experience a sudden worsening of ILD symptoms termed exacerbations. ILD exacerbations are associated with declines in lung function, high rates of hospitalisation and mortality.
