On April 15th, 2023, violent clashes erupted between the Sudanese Armed Forces (SAF) and the paramilitary Rapid Support Forces (RSF) in Sudan, resulting in the displacement of more than 10 million people, including internally displaced people (IDPs), asylum seekers and refugees. This conflict exacerbated many of Sudan’s existing challenges, including ongoing conflicts, disease outbreaks, economic and political instability and climate emergencies. To add to the above suffering the heavy rains and floods during the past few days across Sudan give the situation which is already very difficult more complications. Sudan is a neglected crisis it receives disproportionately little attention. The civilians here feels like they are suffering alone. Their plight hasn't captured global interest, unlike the situation in Ukraine or Gaza. Please support & pray for Sudan.

The people of Sudan are living through a nightmare of violence, hunger, disease and displacement. And Sudan is, once again, rapidly becoming a nightmare of mass ethnic violence, in particular with the dramatic escalation of fighting in El Fasher. We have consistently appealed to both sides to the conflict to end the fighting and come to the negotiating table. But instead of lowering tensions, they are escalating military action. Meanwhile, outside powers are fuelling the fire. As I told the Security Council today, we need action on the ground: Both sides must immediately agree to a cessation of hostilities. Civilians must be protected. Humanitarian aid must flow. It is time for action — decisive action — for peace for the people of Sudan.

One year after violence in Khartoum erupted between the Sudanese Armed Forces (SAF) and the paramilitary Rapid Support Forces (RSF) on 15 April 2023, Sudan now reportedly has the largest number of displaced civilians in the world. The conflict intensified numerous pre-existing challenges in the country, including persistent clashes, disease outbreaks, economic and political instability, and climate emergencies. As of February 2024, the conflict has reportedly caused around 13,900 fatalities, displaced over 10 million civilians, and has placed 24.8 million people in need of assistance. Understanding and addressing the complex issues related to conflict can empower companies and investors to mitigate any human rights risks associated with corporate activities and promote better responsible business and investment practices. Which of the following did you hear about this week? 1. Sudan - 450 people were killed this week alone. Over 20 million people need humanitarian aid and there are a million people displaced since the conflict began in 2004. 3. Ukraine - A shopping center in Kharakiv was bombed by Russia, resulting in 20 deaths. Total Ukrainian death toll is 30,000 people since the Russian invasion began in Feb' 2022. There are 12 million displaced Ukrainians. 4. Yemen - 37 people were killed in airstrikes conducted by the US and UK on Houthi targets. The split between civilian and militant casualties is unknown. 5. Gaza - 30 people were killed in Rafah when a Hamas ammunition warehouse exploded causing peripheral tent damage, following a strike by the IDF on two senior Hamas terrorists - The world is in full meltdown mode, the media is in overdrive, and Israel is catching more heat than a chef caught using canned soup in a five-star restaurant. #NoJewsNoNews #DoubleStandards #SelectiveOutrage #MediaBias #AllLivesMatter #GlobalHypocrisy

The conflict between Israel and Gaza has escalated, with a recent attack on the al-Mawasi camp resulting in at least 40 casualties. The camp, home to thousands of Palestinian refugees, was struck by Israeli airstrikes and artillery fire. Eyewitnesses describe the scene as "apocalyptic," with widespread destruction and chaos. Emergency services are struggling to reach the affected area due to ongoing hostilities. The attack on al-Mawasi is the latest in a series of escalating incidents between Israel and Gaza. Tensions have been simmering for months, with both sides accusing each other of aggression. International leaders have called for an immediate ceasefire and restraint from both parties. The humanitarian situation in Gaza is dire, with thousands displaced and essential services on the brink of collapse. . . . #GazaUnderAttack #IsraelPalestineConflict #AlMawasiCamp #WarCrimes #HumanitarianCrisis #tribunetrends

❗⚠ Crisis in Sudan: Urgent Call for De-Escalation in El Fasher El Fasher, the capital of North Darfur, is at the epicenter of escalating conflicts in #Sudan, now a battleground between the Sudanese Army and the paramilitary Rapid Support Forces. El Fasher shelters a vast number of civilians whose survival hangs by a thread. An extended siege—or worse, a takeover—could result in catastrophic loss of life and severe human rights abuses. As the conflict deepens, the international community must intervene to prevent a humanitarian disaster in El Fasher and support efforts towards a sustainable peace in Sudan. Tuesday, November 12, 2024 - Israel has continued its brutal offensive on Gaza. The humanitarian crisis in Gaza is worsening every day and the lives of more than three million Palestinians remain at extreme risk. These operations must stop. More than 45,000 Palestinians have been killed and over 100,000 people have been wounded in Israel’s war on Gaza since October 7, 2023. The Global Peace 2030 urges Israel to end its military operation in Gaza immediately. This horrific violence must stop immediately. Enough is enough. This must stop now. “Urgent action is needed to protect civilians and prevent further staggering levels of human suffering. Civilians and the infrastructure they rely on – including hospitals, shelters, and schools – must be protected. We urge the international community to come together to demand an immediate humanitarian ceasefire by all parties in the conflict and lasting peace in Israel and Palestine. Rojava in north east Syria is the best example globally of the bottom-up, women-led and ecological self-government the world needs. Today it is under grave threat. You will have seen press reports of attacks on Syrian government forces by Islamist militias. What you will not have seen is that this opportunity is being exploited by Turkish-backed forces in northern Syria to attack Kurdish populations around Aleppo, in particular the huge displaced persons (IDP) camps which 'house' the Kurds driven out of north west Syria (Afrin) by Turkey. Hundreds of thousands are being driven out and are fleeing east to Rojava. There are reports of atrocities and there is a potential for genocide. A huge humanitarian disaster is in the making. This is getting zero attention. The self-government desperately needs diplomatic reinforcement to spread its message and need for support. It is a critical moment. During his last administration, Trump tried to withdraw US forces from Rojava which are the only thing preventing a full-scale Turkish invasion. If you know of potential funders for such work, please let me know directly i.e. not in the comments.

The ongoing Sudan conflict now represents the largest displacement crisis in the world, with approximately 12.2 million displaced to neighbouring countries. Additionally, 15,000 casualties have been reported since the conflict broke out in April 2023. The displacement of civilians is putting a strain on its seven neighbouring states, which are constantly receiving an influx of refugees, while the majority of the population in these states are also facing acute food insecurity. https://lnkd.in/dphdJNDc
