The ongoing internal conflict in #Sudan has been causing immense suffering for the local communities, displacing millions of people from their homes. A staggering 25 million individuals are in urgent need of humanitarian aid, with 18 million facing severe food insecurity. Shockingly, five million are at critical levels of hunger, and over 3.5 million young children under the age of five are suffering from acute malnutrition, which amounts to every seventh child in Sudan, as reported by UN agencies. The violence shows no signs of abating, as the Sudan Armed Forces(#SAF) and Rapid Support Forces(#RSF) have been engaging in intense artillery exchanges in Babanusa, West Kordofan, for nine consecutive days, causing further devastation to an already depleted city. It is crucial that we unite our voices in solidarity and never forget the plight of the Sudanese people. We must continue to advocate for an end to the conflict, and strive for peace and justice for all those affected. More Than a Year of Conflict in Sudan • Conflict Overview: The war in Sudan, which began in April 2023, has resulted in over 15,550 deaths and 5,550 events of political violence. The conflict, primarily between the Sudanese Armed Forces (SAF) and the Rapid Support Forces (RSF), has devastated the country, particularly in Khartoum and Darfur. • Humanitarian Crisis: The war has displaced approximately 10.7 million people within Sudan, with 2.1 million fleeing to neighboring countries. The conflict has also led to an acute hunger crisis, with nearly 26 million people struggling to find food daily. • Targeted Violence: Civilians have borne the brunt of the conflict, with over 1,400 incidents of targeted violence recorded. Khartoum state has been particularly hard-hit, with over 650 incidents resulting in at least 1,470 civilian fatalities. • Darfur’s Plight: In Darfur, violence has taken on an ethnic dimension, with Arab militias aligned with the RSF clashing with the Masalit population. The RSF’s actions in Darfur have led to mass displacements and are being investigated as potential war crimes. • Kordofan and Beyond: The conflict has spread to the Kordofan region, where the SAF and RSF are battling for control of key territories. The region’s strategic importance has made it a focal point in the ongoing war. • Cultural Heritage at Risk: Sudan’s rich cultural heritage, including UNESCO World Heritage sites like the pyramids of Meroe and Jebel Barkal, is under threat. The war has diverted attention and resources away from preserving these irreplaceable treasures. • Call to Action: The international community must intensify efforts to support humanitarian aid, advocate for peace, and protect Sudan’s cultural heritage. Preserving history and heritage in the midst of conflict is essential for the future of Sudan’s people. #SudanConflict #HumanitarianCrisis #ProtectHeritage #SaveLives

On April 15th, 2023, violent clashes erupted between the Sudanese Armed Forces (SAF) and the paramilitary Rapid Support Forces (RSF) in Sudan, resulting in the displacement of more than 10 million people, including internally displaced people (IDPs), asylum seekers and refugees. This conflict exacerbated many of Sudan’s existing challenges, including ongoing conflicts, disease outbreaks, economic and political instability and climate emergencies. To add to the above suffering the heavy rains and floods during the past few days across Sudan give the situation which is already very difficult more complications. Sudan is a neglected crisis it receives disproportionately little attention. The civilians here feels like they are suffering alone. Their plight hasn't captured global interest, unlike the situation in Ukraine or Gaza. Please support & pray for Sudan.

Tuesday, November 12, 2024 - Israel has continued its brutal offensive on Gaza. The humanitarian crisis in Gaza is worsening every day and the lives of more than three million Palestinians remain at extreme risk. These operations must stop. More than 45,000 Palestinians have been killed and over 100,000 people have been wounded in Israel’s war on Gaza since October 7, 2023. The Global Peace 2030 urges Israel to end its military operation in Gaza immediately. This horrific violence must stop immediately. Enough is enough. This must stop now. “Urgent action is needed to protect civilians and prevent further staggering levels of human suffering. Civilians and the infrastructure they rely on – including hospitals, shelters, and schools – must be protected. We urge the international community to come together to demand an immediate humanitarian ceasefire by all parties in the conflict and lasting peace in Israel and Palestine. My Perspective on Syria as an Essential Opportunity for Creating a Stable and Peaceful Future. Statement on Syria: A Historic Opportunity for a Stable and Peaceful Future After 14 years of conflict, recent developments offer a glimmer of hope that the suffering endured by the Syrian people may soon come to an end, and that the world’s largest forced displacement crisis can progress towards equitable solutions. The people of Syria now face a historic opportunity to establish a stable and peaceful future. There exists a significant chance for Syria to advance towards peace, allowing its citizens to begin their return home. However, given the ongoing uncertainties, millions of refugees are cautiously evaluating the safety of their return. While some express eagerness, others remain apprehensive. At this pivotal moment, Syria has the potential to conclude over a decade marked by loss of life, suffering, and oppression, alongside severe damage to the nation’s economy, infrastructure, and human resources. Throughout this time, Syrians have been deprived of any genuine opportunity for development. I call upon all parties to refrain from further violence, to prioritize the protection of civilians, and to take immediate action to ensure that this moment serves as a turning point towards hope, recovery, and enduring peace and stability for the Syrian populace. The Syrian people aspire for development, a peaceful nation, employment opportunities, and an end to all forms of violence and conflict. Furthermore, I encourage all stakeholders in Syria to embrace my Global Peace 2030 agenda and work collaboratively towards creating a peaceful nation in the world. Sappan KC President
