Kraken (crypto exchange) were founded in 2011. Last year, in March 2023, they sponsored Williams Racing marking their first major sports sponsorship deal. In the last month, in July 2024, they have added: 1. Atletico Madrid sleeve sponsor 🎽 2. Tottenham Hotspur sleeve sponsorship to their partnership portfolio 👕 🧠 𝗦𝗼𝗺𝗲 𝗾𝘂𝗶𝗰𝗸 𝘁𝗮𝗸𝗲𝘀: ▶️ These deals aren't cheap and I'm interested in seeing how Kraken activate here. 👉 For some of these deals Kraken are listed as the Web3 partner. It will be interesting to see to what extent they take up the plethora of rights that no doubt come with them. 🏎️ Formula 1 is seeing the most sustained Web3 interest of all sports. It's incomparable to any other sport as of now. ⚽ Crypto is most maligned in football, of all sports. Kraken have done two deals here where the audience, on the whole, actively dislikes crypto. How they manoeuvre here beyond simple sponsor marks will be one to watch. ⛓️ Kraken didn't market heavily in sports previously, but this shift shows they are looking to onboard new users onto their exchange. Coinbase has been dominant here, especially in the west, and with their Base proposition that lead has lengthened. Exchanges are fighting for market share. 💬 From what I'm seeing and hearing - the sports sponsorship market is still something crypto-based companies are going after hard. Not in the same exuberant and crazy way we saw a couple of years ago (cough cough FTX), but still with great interest. 🌐 Most crypto partners want their money's worth when entering deals such as these. The crazy deals of yesteryear are no more, and these partners want to activate rather than just have their brand on display.

The crypto sector often faces negativity, especially when connected to sports clubs. While it's true that the industry has its controversial aspects, it's also incredibly diverse. To label the entire sector under one sweeping comment would be short-sighted. One particularly controversial area is the MEMECOIN sector. These tokens, inspired by internet memes, characters, people, or animals, can often be seen as pure cash grabs and should be kept away from sports. However, some MEMECOINS are evolving into global brands with billions of dollars in backing. At Capital Block, we act as a connector within this space, ensuring we conduct thorough due diligence on crypto brands before linking them to sponsorship opportunities with the clubs we work with. We're excited to announce our latest collaboration with a $2 billion client, whom we are working with across Germany around the UEFA Euro 2024. If you would like to understand how we can help support your team when considering a crypto sponsorship deal please do reach out. #memecoins #sponsorship #football

In the fast-paced world of cryptocurrency, standing out is a challenge—but sports sponsorships are proving to be a game-changer.
