I never missed this conference during my 19 years as School Principal. Always interesting, informative and frequently challenging. I count myself lucky to have heard inspirational presentations from amazing educationalists over the years. Conference facilitates fantastic networking opportunities; it’s a wonderful space in which to find and spread time with your tribe! ( not to mention the social side which is good for the soul !) This protocol is a type of therapeutic breathing technique designed to induce altered states of consciousness without the use of substances. Had a terrific time at the BDA/ERCES event yesterday involving many fire marshalls and other AHJ from across our NC communities. This is a topic that all AHJ, GCs, and ECs should stay up to date on. Problem discussed: newer construction materials are becoming increasingly more difficult for radio frequencies to penetrate, becoming an issue for our communications for first responders in various cases across the country, specifically in urban and multi floor units. Resolution: State and Local Governments are becoming increasingly more aware of the need for BDA as a critical infrastructure in many enterprise and multi-family installations, both new and existing. In the near future, new codes and regulations will be put in place for more efficient BDA requirements in these buildings. Though this may be a slight obstacle for many building owners and new developments, the payoff would result in much more efficient first responder communications across the US. Due to poor or lack of regulations on BDA in the past, many buildings currently installed with systems in place are being put into question. As these new regulations begin to take place, make sure you choose your installation partners wisely. The lowest bid isn’t always the most capable when it comes to critical infrastructure.
