🎉 Exciting News! 📝 My latest research has just been published in #naturecommunications. I'm thrilled to share my paper on on-chip frequency comb sources. This breakthrough technology offers compact, energy-efficient, and cost-effective solutions for various applications from #lidar to #telecommunications. In this paper, we discuss how we overcame the fundamental trade-off between controllability and bandwidth. Traditional approaches either provide broadband combs without control over spectral envelope or offer controlled combs with limited bandwidth. However, through innovative methods, we achieved agile spectral multiplication of a narrowband comb. By exploiting the nonlinear dynamics of a multi-wavelength laser under frequency comb injection, we demonstrated spectral multiplication of the frequency comb at frequency offsets ranging from 26 GHz to 1.3 THz. What's more, our system offers nanosecond switching capability, enabling fast switching and versatility in various applications. Special thanks to my colleagues: Martin Virte, Pablo Marin-Palomo, and Mathieu Ladouce for their valuable contributions. Join me in exploring the vast potential of this technology! With compatibility across generic platform, our approach holds promise for scalable and versatile solutions. Together, we can pave the way for a new generation of #THz applications, unlocking opportunities for low-cost, compact, and power-efficient THz comb sources.
