𝗠𝗼𝗱𝗲𝗿𝗻 𝗯𝗿𝘂𝘁𝗮𝗹𝗶𝘀𝗺 architectural style captivates with its raw, unapologetic aesthetic, marrying concrete's starkness with bold geometric forms. Its essence lies in its honest expression of function and materiality, making a powerful statement in contemporary architecture. Characterized by its emphasis on functionality, exposed materials, and geometric shapes, modern brutalism challenges traditional notions of beauty and invites viewers to confront the raw essence of structure. Its allure lies in its uncompromising authenticity and timeless appeal. #designconcept #TAKTIKDesignThinkingLab

The 'pyramid-shaped' apartment building in China designed by Masters' Architectural Office is a fascinating architectural marvel. Drawing inspiration from traditional Chinese terraced rice fields and incorporating elements from parkour, it stands out as a unique and innovative structure. The design, with its protruding and slanted surfaces resembling pyramids from certain angles, adds a touch of modernity and urban appeal to the residential and commercial complex. It's interesting to see how architecture can be influenced by various cultural and contemporary elements, creating buildings that not only serve practical purposes but also make a statement. Incorporating ideas from parkour reflects an understanding of evolving urban activities and trends, which can make the buildings more relatable to young city dwellers. This kind of architectural creativity adds vibrancy to the urban landscape and showcases the fusion of tradition and modernity in Chinese architecture. . . . . #architecturalmarvel #mastersarchitecturaloffice #chinesearchitecture #innovativedesign #urbanappeal #modernarchitecture #culturalinfluence #contemporarydesign #parkourinspired #urbancreativity #traditionandmodernity #citydwellers #architecturalfusion #buildingdesign

Modern neoclassical architecture revives the timeless elegance of ancient Greek and Roman design, blending it with contemporary materials and functionality. This style emphasizes symmetry, proportion, and classical elements like columns and pediments, yet adapts them for modern use. It's a perfect fusion of tradition and innovation, seen in structures like the Schermerhorn Symphony Center in Nashville. Why does this matter? Modern neoclassical design not only brings a sense of history and grandeur but also meets today's needs for comfort and practicality. It's architecture that respects the past while embracing the future. #Architecture #Design #ModernNeoclassical #Construction #Innovation ---

This was my final university project, part of my bachelor's thesis, which I submitted already two years ago. Since then, I have been working in the field, for Florence Girod in her "Büro für Raumgestaltung", freelance on my own projects and for two semesters as a teaching assistant at BI. These and other experiences have put me in a dilemma: I'm torn between several possible paths. But maybe I don't even have to choose? In any case, the next step is to achieve a Master's degree. During my MA studies, I would like to continue pursuing the topic of my Bachelor's thesis entitled "Memory and Spatial Design: An Exploration of the Collective Memory of Non-Residential Architecture and Interior Design in the Former GDR". My research revealed many unanswered questions that call for further exploration. But here, too, I face the challenge of harmonising academic research and creative practice. I will have to find a good balance between practically applied design research and sociological analysis.
Explore the Bachelor Thesis Design Project by Marielle Kiessig, a sixth-semester student in the BA Interior Architecture/Interior Design program! Her project, "Memory and Spatial Design: Nachbarschaftspavillion," focuses on revitalizing an example of GDR architecture in Karl Marx Allee, Berlin. 🏢 Marielle's intervention aims to bring new uses to this historic building, extending its life and significance. This thoughtful design preserves the memory of the past while adapting to contemporary needs. The project, guided by Prof. Katrin Brünjes, showcases Marielle's dedication and creativity in preserving and revitalizing historic spaces through innovative design solutions. #DesignInnovation #GDRArchitecture #UrbanRevitalization #InteriorDesign #StudentProject #BerlinInternationalUniversity #Architecture #HistoricPreservation
