Sign us up for the Ally Pally... Well not quite, but it was great to be a winner alongside Richard Stoddart at the Manchester darts championship. Of course I'm exaggerating. It was a healthy competition between friends and colleagues at the very new Black Cat Club (highly recommend) after a long day our Redmoor Health exec team had together in the city. I've known and worked with Richard for yonks and of course we made a great team 😁 We also play golf together, joined by Marc Schmid. In my case I use the term 'play golf' very loosely 😂 But why is it important to socialise with colleagues? 😊 enhances teamwork, if we feel connected to our colleagues we're more cooperative and collaborative which can lead to us being more effective and efficient 😎 it breaks down formal barriers and gives us a more relaxed environment to communicate more openly. 😊 it helps to build a network of supportive colleagues 🤔 it's an opportunity to share ideas and thoughts that might not be discussed in formal meetings or a business environment, helping us all to be more innovative 😊 it can make the workplace more enjoyable, meaning we're more likely to feel engaged and positive about our role 😊 you can make new friends for life - plenty of my ex-colleagues are full-time friends A positive culture at an organisation is crucial. Many people spend more time with colleagues than anyone else, often under pressure and in stressful situations. We work hard at Redmoor for colleagues to feel included, supported and valued by each other and that's a key part of our recruitment too, choosing people that fit with our values and ethos, that want to be part of our journey. Team Building Is SO Important! I used to run a sales team & at one point, I was recognized as a Top 20 Partner, Nationally. 👀 But that award was due to the results of my bomb ass team. I was super close with them. We did soooo much together and I put a lot of energy into strengthening those relationships. We... 🍝 had reservations at fancy restaurants 🥂 went to happy hours 🎳 bowled as a team 🚗 TEST DROVE LAMBORGHINIS TOGETHER 😂 went to comedy shows 🌆 spent a weekend out of town (Corporate didn't like this one, lol) 🏋️♀️ even did a few workout boot camps together... ...just to name a few! Camaraderie was important, and I think it's what made us great. We were there for each other. We supported each other. We made $$$ together. Now, I'm running Abambyh Business Coaching and I have a team of women who support me and this business... but it's like I 𝘍𝘖𝘙𝘎𝘖𝘛 about all the things I did with my previous team in the past. Maybe because things are virtual now. Maybe because I'm not ballin' 🤑 the way I was back then (just being honest 😔🤷♀️). Or maybe because I wasn't viewing my business in the same way. IDK. What I do know is that when Libbie Krussow joined the team in January and asked about a team happy hour, everything came rushing back to me! It's not about the fancy dinners and Lamborghinis (although those things are VERY nice, lol). It's about letting our hair down and spending some quality time together. Getting to know each other on a 𝘗𝘌𝘙𝘚𝘖𝘕𝘈𝘓 level.
