In the event that the object to be welded cannot be removed from the workplace, all flammable materials shall be removed at a distance of not less than 35 feet (11 meters) from the place of welding. 2. In the event that it is not possible to remove the object to be welded, and at the same time it is not possible to remove all flammable materials from the place of welding, suitable covers are used to trap heat, sparks and welding products. All flammable materials are covered with non-flammable materials and the floor below the welding place is sprayed with water to extinguish flying sparks. 3- Providing appropriate firefighting equipment near the place of welding 4. Appointment of a fire monitor (Watch Fire) The need not to leave the place of welding until at least half an hour has passed from its completion. 5 - The need to ensure that the welding place is free of flammable materials or flammable liquid materials by making the necessary measurements by measuring the percentage of flaming materials in the atmosphere. 6- Not to allow any welding or cutting work in the used barrels except after conducting appropriate cleaning operations and ensuring that they are free of flammable materials.

This week for #SafetyFriday, we're looking at a common fall hazard both on the construction site and at home: falls from ladders. Whether at home or the job site, there are correct and safe ways to use ladders. Here are some basic ladder safety tips: 🪜Always inspect the ladder before use to ensure it is in good condition, with no cracks or loose parts, or broken rungs or rails 🪜When using an extension ladder, inspect the pulleys, ropes, and locks for excessive wear or fatigue 🪜Make sure that all footings and pads still provide a non-slip surface 🪜Check that all factory stickers are clear and legible; these include inspection and OSHA requirement stickers. Unmarked ladders should be removed from service 🪜Make sure that you're using the correct type of ladder for the job 🪜When setting up a ladder, make sure that it is on level, sturdy ground and fully opened with all locks engaged 🪜Use the 4-to-1 rule, which means for every 4 feet of height, the ladder should be 1 foot away from the wall or other support 🪜Do not use other objects to raise the height of the ladder. If the ladder is not tall enough, get a taller one 🪜Always face the ladder when ascending or descending and use both hands to grasp it securely 🪜If you need tools, carry them on a toolbelt or pull them up with a hoist after you have reached your destination 🪜Don't over-reach. Secure all items when working at height and never work beneath suspended loads. 🛠️ Tools and Materials: Use tools with secure handles and ensure you’re trained on safe operation.
