🙃 My career path? VARIED or SQUIGGLY are an understatement. But it all led me to become a very proud generalist who wants to be a part of the team that makes a difference.
🤷♀️ From paper rounds to beach lifeguard, from data entry to a bizarre stint at a shady one-person law firm (ask me about it sometime!). I've worked at so many places in The Hague, my husband jokes that he can point at a random office in the city and I’ll have worked there…
🚨 My true work/career journey, however, started when I landed an admin job in social housing in the Netherlands.
🤔 It was on my VERY FIRST day, that my colleague not just showed me the system, they showed me all the work-arounds that she used to make their life easier. In doing so, they were putting people at risk of missing communication about rental payments, repairs, and other important aspects that come with renting a social home.
💪 This was the start to my journey into wanting to make workplaces work better digitally. To increase information and data literacy, to think how we can make processes and applications less clunky to prevent work-arounds from being invented as much as possible, and learn from the people who use them while delivering or accessing a service.
📅 This month, I'll share more about my passion for, expertise in, and approach to tackling digital transformation from within. I’ll be sharing posts, articles and useful stuff, touching on the following luke-warm takes and more:
⏩ Consultants don’t have to just stand on the side lines and point to what needs changing in endless PowerPoint slides rehashing standard sh*t. The best ones help you change from within.

⏩Digital capabilities are both overestimated and underrated - they're crucial for confident work in 2024 yet seldom actually tested or trained on. Let’s improve our hiring and training practices by finding out what your colleagues really need.
