Do you feel like you are being suffocated by your business? Its definitely a rollercoaster of emotions running a business. You are the one responsible for the business and often employees too, you keep that smile and like a swan everything is calm on the surface, but behind the scenes you are frantically working to keep things moving. Though sometimes it can get on top of you - thats ok, I am sure every business owner will tell you that they have been in that situation. Its making sure that you can get out of this cycle thats important. Do you have the right support for you? Do you ensure that you are looking after yourself? I have a great support network around me and when I start to feel overwhelmed I write lists and prioritise what is to be done. I also take a walk to give myself thinking time. What do you do when you start to feel suffocated by your business? What tips do you have for others? I'm Ben, and I help business owners reduce stress by giving clarity on their numbers, alongside putting plans in place so they can spend more time with their families

When you fix yourself, business becomes a breeze. Most people avoid the things they don’t want to do, when ironically, most times the things you want come as a result of difficult struggles. Physique, optimal health, relationships, skill development I wake up at 6:30am every day and walk 1.5km to the gym and 1.5km back after in -15 degree weather. I don’t want to go so early, I don’t want to walk, I’d rather drive. But then I remember, everything in life is sacrifice. And if you don’t have it, you can artificially create it. You think building a business is tough after this? lol I just make a few videos, press a few buttons, and talk to clients. The hard part is fixing yourself, then the business and everything else becomes a breeze.

The most important thing that I've learned about business is that the better YOU are, the better the business will be. If your mind isn't in the game, it's going to be hard to play it. If your heart isn't in the game, you will never be your best. If your relationships are out of whack, you will be lonely no matter how many people you surround yourself with. The list goes on... YOU need to be happy and pointed in the right direction. You don't have to wait until everything is perfect because perfect doesn't exist. You just need to be working on yourself harder than you do on your business. Simple steps you can take today. 1. Set some goals. Anything is better than nothing. 2. Block off some time on your calendar. 3. Ask someone for help. It could be a spouse, friend, colleague, or anyone else you trust.

THIS Could be killing your business... If I threw a pen at you, you'd catch it, but if i threw 10 you'd catch none of them. The same applies for your business. When visitors land on your site, if you throw a pop up here and then a 10% off there and ooohhhh look we have 18 different services and we are award winning and the best - [insert overly smily picture of us]. STOP. Keep it simple. How are you going to benefit the websites visitors; Health, Wealth or Relationships. And if you do want to sell multiple things, split it up across the website - concisely. Keep your messaging simple, concise and straight to the point. Stop confusing people😊

One rainy afternoon, I stumbled upon a light bulb thought that shifted my perspective. In the swirl of tasks and excitement, a fundamental principle stood out: The importance of : "when to get specific tasks done," "getting the basics right," "prioritizing quality over quantity." So many of us tend to overlook this in the race to achieve an income, and we forget that it is important to have workflows that make sense and have less stress. Why does this matter? 🔑 It dictates how a business truly resonates with you. 🔑 Reflects the core essence of what you're trying to achieve. 🔑 Can be the difference between a bustling but unprofitable business. There's beauty in diving deeper than surface level. Let’s focus on understanding the real essence beyond just the external appeal. If you're feeling stuck in growing your business, DM me with "workflows," and I'll send you my free Workflow Pulse Audit. What's your main focus in your business? 📘 Getting the basics right 💡 Innovative approaches 🌟 Aesthetics or presentation 🤷 Still exploring!

A while back, I spent hours trying to fix a glitch on my website. It felt like a small task I should be able to handle, but the deeper I went, the more tangled it got. Finally, I swallowed my pride and asked a fellow micro-business owner for help. Within 10 minutes, they pointed out a simple fix. What took me hours of frustration could’ve been solved with a single question! The lesson? As micro-business owners, we often feel we need to figure everything out on our own, but the reality is: collaboration beats isolation. Whether it’s advice, referrals, or even just a listening ear, your network is one of your greatest assets. Remember, asking for help isn’t a weakness—it’s a smart business move. Cheers to all the people in my network, and a big shout out to the EVO Business Networking crew.

Offering one thing, is THE thing. Here’s why: (Note: one thing = one form of value, not one product. You can sell hundreds of products and services under a single value offering - just ask Apple, IKEA, Soho House, Ferrari, Trader Joe’s, or basically any awesome brand on the planet) ↳ One thing is clear for the customer. You can communicate it with power and focus, and you can guarantee they won’t miss it. ↳ One thing is clear for your team. If everyone knows what the game is here, that means they can work in total alignment, and orient every single action towards that shared purpose. ↳ One thing is ownable. With this level of focus you can push things harder and further than anyone else, building real distance between you and your competitors. ↳ One thing is confident. Every extra “selling point” you add, is an admission of weakness. It’s just a way of saying that none of these things are compelling on their own. ↳ One thing is innovative. Having this self-imposed restriction will prompt you to come up with creative and original ideas, since you won’t be able to just copy everyone else. What is the ONE THING your business truly owns? For most of us, the answer is “nothing”. The priority, is to fix it. ___ P.S. if you’re serious about figuring out what this thing is for your business, by far the easiest place to start is my newsletter The Hidden Path, which is all about coming up with this answer. I found this post a challenge. What 'one thing' does my company English Unlocked do? (According to Alex, great brands offer just one thing.) Ok here goes- We help you communicate in a way that EVERYONE can understand, including those who speak English less well than you. We run a lot of different workshops, but I think that's what they all have in common. Our rewriting service follows this objective too. I only wish I could express it more succinctly! (All suggestions welcome.)

I need another brain in my business. Let's talk about having to be the thinker in your business all. the. bloody. time! 🤯 It's exhausting. I get it because the high achiever in me wants to have done everything yesterday. And I know this is true for so many of you. For most of us, when it comes to our businesses, we love them. We are passionate about them, and we want them (and us) to thrive. But the majority of the time, this comes at a cost: • You're always "on", minds constantly working on ideas and thinking of to-dos • Your to-do lists seem to grow faster than you can tick things off • You feel guilty for not working (hello, 2 AM anxiety!) • Your businesses are growing, but you're struggling to keep up I get it. You're a high achiever. You're dedicated, hard-working, and always striving for more. But you're also human. And humans need rest. Humans need balance. Humans need... help. You need an extra brain for your business. A strategic thinker, A problem solver. This is what an Online Business Manager does, you can: • Have someone else think strategically about your business • Have someone anticipate problems before they arise • Have someone fill in the gaps and keep everything running smoothly This allows you to: • Close your laptop at a reasonable hour, knowing everything important is handled • Take a real vacation without your phone glued to your hand • Focus on the big picture while we handle the details Ready to stop being the only thinker in your business? ----- P.S. If you are curious about how an OBM can transform and support you and your business? Drop me a DM! Whether you're looking to streamline operations, free up time for your kids, create headspace to scale your business, or finally launch that course that's been living on your vision board - let's chat. You don't have to do it all alone. Ready for a change that makes your business work for you, not the other way around?
