𝗘𝘅𝗰𝗹𝘂𝘀𝗶𝘃𝗲 𝗺𝗲𝗺𝗯𝗲𝗿 𝗯𝗲𝗻𝗲𝗳𝗶𝘁! Radiology residents often ask their peers, more senior residents, fellows, and faculty for guidance on how to prepare for rotations and what resources are considered most high yield for improving medical knowledge and understanding while on rotation. With this in mind, the APDR has created 3 "Rotation Guides" for the most common rotations that programs provide to their residents - one for the resident's first rotation, one for the resident's second rotation, and one for the resident's third rotation (R2 and R3 guides coming soon). These guides contain a prioritized list of top goals and objectives with the associated core competency areas parenthetically indicated at the end of each one. Last week I attended an ATLS Instructor course hosted by The Royal College of Surgeons of England in London. The course was great with fantastic faculty from ICU, ED and Surgical backgrounds. These were a few take home messages for teaching/facilitating: - Ask questions that aren’t Google-able e.g. make it relevant to a case study, build on existing knowledge as this cements it and makes it more memorable. - Think about the set up! Can everyone see? Does everyone know their part? This requires a degree of planning and cannot be achieved if you turn up at the same time as the participants so think ahead! - Make your closure to a session impactful! What’s your take home message? Maximum of 3 key points and don’t just give the narrative of the session.

Yes, we do review those as well! We recently received an inquiry from one of the radiology trainees about whether we accept educational materials. Yes, we do! Please feel free to submit your work. The general rule is that it must be unpublished material, and the abstract will undergo a regular review process. Therefore, we cannot guarantee the acceptance of your abstract, but why not give it a try? When submitting, please note that there is no separate category for educational material. Instead, choose one of the body parts, such as neuro, body, etc. Upon acceptance, we will most likely place them in the exhibition hall as a traditional paper poster, where it will remain for viewing throughout the week. Please spread the word so that we can have more clinician colleagues joining the Hawaii meeting!"
