This week will particularly intense. Fight CLI, treat varicose veins and probably stop bleedings or deal with ALI… the daily affairs of the vascular surgeon but also I will be part of the **CCriSP** (Course for Critically Ill Surgical Patients) program organized by the **Royal College of Surgeons of England** (RCSE), taking place at **SSMC** on the **10th and 11th October**. This is my first time participating as faculty, and I couldn’t be more excited! CCriSP is designed to equip healthcare professionals, particularly surgeons and surgical trainees, with the essential skills and knowledge to manage critically ill surgical patients effectively. The course emphasizes key aspects such as: - **Assessment and Management**: Learning to assess and manage critically ill surgical patients, understanding the physiological changes they undergo. - **Advanced Resuscitation Techniques**: Gaining insights into advanced techniques for resuscitation in emergency situations. - **Surgical Decision-Making**: Enhancing decision-making skills in high-pressure scenarios, ensuring optimal patient outcomes. - **Multidisciplinary Collaboration**: Fostering teamwork among healthcare professionals, including surgeons, anesthetists, and nursing staff, to improve patient care. I am particularly excited about the opportunity to share my knowledge and experience with the next generation of surgeons. Teaching and mentoring young professionals is something I am truly passionate about, and I look forward to engaging with participants during the course. #CCriSP #RCSE #SurgeryEducation #CriticalCare #Mentorship #FutureSurgeons

In my residency program, post-op X-rays were often used to evaluate the care delivered to patients. Decision-making, procedural, and surgical abilities were judged based on the accuracy of reduction and fixation. When care happened at night, this assessment was done the following morning, usually by others who were home sleeping in the middle of the night. #physiciancoaching #surgeoncoaching #physicianwellness #surgeonwellness #physiciancoach #orthomastodon https://lnkd.in/g7zYUdse

𝗘𝘅𝗰𝗹𝘂𝘀𝗶𝘃𝗲 𝗺𝗲𝗺𝗯𝗲𝗿 𝗯𝗲𝗻𝗲𝗳𝗶𝘁! Radiology residents often ask their peers, more senior residents, fellows, and faculty for guidance on how to prepare for rotations and what resources are considered most high yield for improving medical knowledge and understanding while on rotation. With this in mind, the APDR has created 3 "Rotation Guides" for the most common rotations that programs provide to their residents - one for the resident's first rotation, one for the resident's second rotation, and one for the resident's third rotation (R2 and R3 guides coming soon). These guides contain a prioritized list of top goals and objectives with the associated core competency areas parenthetically indicated at the end of each one. We aim to review these every two years in order to ensure up to date content. https://lnkd.in/gjCDZzct #RadPD #RadEd #RadRes #RadPCs
