As the year draws to a close, we’re reflecting on one of the highlights of 2024 —our partnership with Eat Up Australia. This year, our teams helped complete over 8,000 sandwiches for children in need across the country, helping ensure they don’t go without. But the work doesn’t stop there. In 2025, we are funding 10,000 apples to fill lunchboxes and provide kids with the nutritious meals they need to fuel their growth and learning. Eat Up Australia is making a real difference in the lives of school kids who might otherwise go without, and we are honoured to play a part in their mission to fight hunger and help support Australian kids. Here's to continuing this important work together! Learn more about Eat Up and our partnership here: https://lnkd.in/gFaj5bBB Lyndon Galea Amanda Howle Lane Simpson

A few things I've become more grateful for from having volunteered at a local food bank. 1). Having a can opener is a luxury. 2). Being able to keep foods cold or heat up meals makes meal prep so much easier. 3). Salt, pepper and condiments can take your meals to the next level. 4.) Automobiles are not the best place to get a good night's rest. Summary: Wealth is not based on having the most, it's all about needing the least.

Retain 70% of donors after 3 gifts?!?! 👀 I saw this video a while back (sorry, GaryV and language) where if you get a customer from one visit --> third, the likelihood of them returning after the 3rd visit is 70%! The same is true according to the Fundraising Effectiveness Project, 3-6 donations retain at 72%; and if you get to 7+, you are at 88% 🔥🔥 Keep at it, and enjoy the video; some ideas translate into the nonprofit space.

These businesses are the heartbeat of their communities, driving innovation, creating jobs, and fostering economic resilience. Grateful for an opportunity to serve people with substance use disorder in early recovery with quality, nutritious meals! You know what's even better? Having those meals produced by a business whose co-owner is in recovery! As this article mentions, we JUST opened up for more referrals on the NO Limits to Recovery pilot program. Do you know someone in early recovery who would benefit from healthy, filling meals? If so, refer, refer, refer!
Meals on Wheels of Central Indiana is elated to announce we have partnered HercuLean Meal Prep for our NO Limits to Recovery pilot program! Building a relationship with a fellow Indianapolis organization means so much to Meals on Wheels and our mission to serve Medically-tailored, nourishing and culturally appropriate food across the greater Indianapolis area! “HercuLean began as a passion project as I changed my lifestyle in the early days of recovery,” says Ben Canary, co-founder of HercuLean Meals, “We talk a lot about gratitude in early recovery and having this gift of support during those critical first 90 days will be something tangible to feel grateful for.” With this incredible partnership we are opening another cohort for the program, with another to follow in December. Please reach out at the link below for more information on referrals, how to sign up, & more! https://bit.ly/47c3qH2

2025, let’s go! I am very proud of our team, our family and what we accomplished together in 2024. We recognized 16 outstanding Safe Supervisors and Lead Hands who went above and beyond for Health & Safety and Quality Assurance. They were recognized with a company celebration, a recognition certificate, along with two extra paid vacation days! We, as a team continue to demonstrate our Health and Food Safety excellence, and we continue to be excellent ourselves. We as a team raised over $20,000, for great causes throughout the whole year. We ran, we walked, and most importantly, we all waited for each other at the finish line. It’s not about finishing first, it’s about finishing together. As we go into 2025, let me leave you with a few learnings in 2024. 1) There are no failures, only growth opportunities. 2) As a team, we’re not only a team, but we are a family. 3) You will have your ups, and you will have your downs, but you never let a ‘moment’, get in the way of the ‘momentum’. So the question isn’t ‘ Are you ready for 2025’? But rather ‘Is 2025, ready for you? Go get them, be strong, be composed, and most importantly, keep being you. We are ready for you 2025!

Last week, my fellow Jackson Healthcare team members and I made sandwiches for The Sandwich Project TSP. Regrettably, I didn’t get a picture with my table-mates because I was too busy slathering peanut butter on slices of bread (that was my role in our assembly line). Our gathering started as an all-hands company meeting. Our president and other department team members gave updates on our collective efforts as an organization this year, where we’re headed, and how to best to support our family of companies and one another along the way. Then we took a short break. We came back to the same room several minutes later with a new objective- to roll up our sleeves, make sandwiches for local food insecure people, and in the process, find fellowship with one another. There was something powerful about over a hundred team members working side by side, quite literally hand in hand, to serve a greater purpose for someone we'll likely never meet. My takeaway from our team event: doing the small, precise, hands-on work (in my case peanut buttering bread) can help to center you. It helps to put the big, complicated things into focus. Here was a living example of many hands make light work. And I’m not just talking about the sandwiches. At JH, our mission is to improve the delivery of patient care and the lives of everyone we touch. What are you doing to serve someone else today? #LoveLifts #ProudtobeJH

Lately the negative media has been loud 📢, and I found myself pondering 🤔 … where are we are headed, as a community, as a Country. Then I found myself channel surfing 📺 last weekend and I saw something brilliant 💡, something I can learn from, let warm my heart 💛, be a part of and something I felt compelled to share. If you haven’t heard the name Shaun Christie-David 🙌 , Columbo Social or Plate it Forward, do yourself a favour and read on. Some stats on Plate it Forward (we are on Linkedin), · Provided $3.75+ million in wages 💲 to underrepresented community staff, who would have been on social benefits. · Donated over 555,000 meals 🥗. · Provided ongoing employment 💼 for 200+ individuals from marginalised backgrounds. · Employee retention 🔐 rate in 2023, 97%. · 86% of the workforce is from culturally 🌍 and/or linguistically diverse backgrounds. · 83% from supported 🤲 backgrounds. · 56% Women ♀. Words from founder Shaun, “I’ve always seen the power of food as a connector, a way to bring people together with quality, dignity, and a sense of curiosity about how similar we all are. I believe food is the universallove language that can bridge cultures, foster understanding, and build communities. Plate It Forward was a way I could create a conduit for cultural exchange, respect, and genuine human connection. Growing up, watching my mom cook was a way I knew she cared. She no longer had an accent; she was someone people wanted to connect with through food. That sense of love and dignity in every meal is what I want to bring to our tables- at our restaurants and through every meal we donate.” “What sets us apart is our deep-seated belief in realising the potential of every individual we engage with whether it’s our dedicated staff or the guests who walk through our doors. We’re not just offering jobs; we’re providing pathways to brighter futures, fostering an environment where dreams can take flight. Every meal we serve is a step towards a more inclusive, compassionate world. This movement supersedes individuals and reflects the collective journey of ethnic and migrant communities.” Source https://lnkd.in/gQCtUjyB 🛑 Read the article https://lnkd.in/gNvTdnTW, catch the episode on https://lnkd.in/gaEKU8Si or better yet, go and have a meal at one of the restaurants! #inspiration #community #together #socialimpact #positive #culture #diversity

It’s so easy for campaigns to miss the mark around Mental Health Awareness Week but I ❤️ The Meal campaign from McDonald’s removing the smile from their Happy Meal® boxes. Why? ✅ Well-thought out 360 campaign rooted in data (McDonald’s research reveals nearly half - 48% - of UK children feel pressure to be happy all the time, even when they don’t want to be). ✅ Emotive and memorable. ✅ Strengthened by their collab with charity partner, BBC Children in Need. It aligns with their campaign shining a light on the emotional weight children and young people across the UK carry. ✅ Genuinely provides value when it comes to encouraging important conversations about emotional well-being with children. There are ‘emotion sticker sheets’ included with their limited edition Happy Meal® boxes that children can use to indicate how they’re feeling and a resource hub with helpful material. (Reach it through a QR code on the Happy Meal® boxes or through their website and social media.) If you haven’t seen it yet, do check it out! https://lnkd.in/ey_Hu9HH #mentalhealthawarenessweek #marketingcampaigns
