My team is better than your team. :) During my time in the Navy, I was fortunate enough to have worked with some pretty phenomenal people. I did, however, also work with some less than effective teams. It happens. I learned quite a bit about what it takes to make a successful team, and how quickly that same team can come crashing down if not handled well. Those outcomes are rough, to say the least. I've been blessed in my post-military career, to have landed in roles that work well for me, and to have been given opportunities to learn and grow into new roles. A huge part of that is the very team I get to work with every day. We all have a similar passion, but different ways to pursue it. We each bring our own individual talents, and weaknesses, to the team. In those areas I'm not as strong in, I know I have help from others who are. Are there areas for improvement? Absolutely, and there should be, otherwise we'd grow stagnant, and become much less effective at what we do. It's a little like ye olde "it's how we've always done it" *shiver* Part of what makes the team as solid as it is, is the ability to question. Is this the most effective way to do this? Are there improvements we can make? Open lines of communication are paramount to say the least. Even working in a remote environment, (though I do sometimes miss the office setting sometimes) I know my team is always with me. I can reach out, have the discussions I need to have, get help when I need it, and they know I have them covered as well. Find yourself this team. Have the conversations that help you to define the culture, ask the questions that help reveal potential red flags. For my transitioning military, informational interviews and Skillbridge are phenomenal resources to gain this edge. Most of all, be the team you want to be a part of. It's well worth it. #veteranshelpingveterans #transitioningservicemembers #gladyouasked

🌟 **The Power of Teamwork: Inspired by the Blue Angels** 🌟 🚀 As a Partner sales professional, I've always believed that **teamwork** is the secret sauce that propels us toward success. Today, I want to share a powerful lesson in collaboration, discipline, and excellence—inspired by the **U.S. Navy Blue Angels**. ## **1. The Blue Angels: A Symphony of Precision** The Blue Angels, established in 1946, serve as a proud symbol of the Navy and Marine Corps' finest. Their awe-inspiring formations and death-defying maneuvers have inspired millions of spectators worldwide. But beyond the thrilling airshows, the Blue Angels exemplify the true essence of teamwork. ## **2. Trust at 500 Miles Per Hour** Imagine flying directly at each other, less than **100 feet off the ground**, at speeds pushing **500 miles per hour**. Mistakes are not an option. The Blue Angel pilots understand that success hinges on an **unfettering commitment to trust**. They know that their lives depend on each other. It's a lesson we can all apply in our professional lives. ## **3. Lifehack #1: Be Thankful** During debriefs, after every flight, each pilot says, "Glad to be here." Whether they've flown a flawless demo or made mistakes, they express gratitude. Why? Because being part of the Blue Angels team is a privilege. No matter the challenges, they remember that many naval aviators would love to be in their seats. As professionals, we must also appreciate the honor and privilege of our roles. ## **4. Lifehack #2: Admit Mistakes, Strive for Excellence** The Blue Angels don't shy away from acknowledging mistakes. They debrief openly, learn, and improve. As salespeople, we can embrace this mindset. When we stumble, we learn. When we excel, we celebrate. It's how we grow. ## **5. Lifehack #3: Shared Values and Proper Training** The Blue Angels operate on shared values—integrity, discipline, and precision. They cross-train relentlessly, ensuring everyone knows their role. In business, we must foster a similar foundation. Proper training, knowledge of procedures, and alignment with shared values create a cohesive team. ##Reflecting on my career, I've faced challenges—times when I questioned my path. But like the Blue Angels, I've learned that every day is an opportunity. I'm thankful for the privilege of serving my Partners, collaborating with colleagues, and striving for excellence. Let's soar together, embracing the power of teamwork. 🔗 **#Teamwork #BlueAngels #SalesSuccess** *What's your favorite teamwork lesson? Share it in the comments! Let's learn and grow together.* 🚀🤝 *Remember, every day is a chance to be thankful and strive for excellence. Let's make our teams soar!* 🌟🙌

I was let go 3x after a successful 25-year military career. Even while leadership was ensuring me they wouldn't. If I had any ego, that 18-month stretch would've killed it. 𝗟𝗼𝗼𝗸... I knew the Public Sector--especially the Army & Marine Corps. But, for those 25 years, I was developed in a vacuum. 𝗔𝗳𝘁𝗲𝗿 𝘁𝗵𝗲 𝗺𝗶𝗹𝗶𝘁𝗮𝗿𝘆... I was submitting my resume to a 100 jobs a week. I was reaching out and having informational interviews. I was asking questions and learning so much. I took a non-paying opportunity to feel important. 𝗧𝗵𝗲 𝗽𝗿𝗼𝗯𝗹𝗲𝗺 𝘄𝗮𝘀... I didn't have the right "experience". Then, while I was on the beach with my wife licking my professional wounds... A recruiter friend reached out and asked if I'd consider applying for a job at her company. I had no idea what the company was or how I could add value. She said, "Trust me", and I we to work--teaching and learning. 𝗧𝘂𝗿𝗻𝘀 𝗼𝘂𝘁... I had been leading projects and programs in the military for 10+ years. I just didn't know how to translate the experience or speak the language. After 5 rounds of interviews and talking with some amazing people... 𝗜 𝘄𝗮𝘀 𝗵𝗶𝗿𝗲𝗱! Then, I was immediately given a peer-mentor. 𝗔 𝘆𝗲𝗮𝗿 𝗹𝗮𝘁𝗲𝗿... I started re-building their Military & Veterans Program! Where I help others find project management--as a skill or a career. Now, I'm the PM Champion for our military community and career pivoters! When did you find your post-military career? #QuickNote #Military #ProjectManagement #Leadership

Transitioning from military life to CTO wasn’t just a change—it was a natural step forward because I've always wanted to build cool things. The discipline and adaptability I picked up in the Air Force? They’re the same tools I use every day at Reputyz. Whether it's leading a mission or crafting innovative solutions, staying focused and flexible is key. My journey proves that the skills you gather along the way, no matter where they come from, are crucial to success. Look back at your own experiences—they might just be the foundation for building something great. That foundation can guide you in ways you never imagined, shaping both your career and your passions. p s. If you had one word to describe a lesson that you learned during the early part of your career what would that be?

As I was looking back at where I am today, there are always a few people that come to mind as having changed my life path. One of those individuals is Mr. Steve Wert. Story time: As a Captain, hitting my 5 year mark and being pretty set on separating from service, my boss asked what my dream job was… I semi-jokingly responded with "walking dogs"… naturally that led to an interview to be the PEO’s exec. I remember: ...shadowing Mr. Wert’s current exec (Brian H.) and thinking there is no way I’m a fit for the role. ...going into the interview with the intention of making it clear the role was not for me. ...the interview was one question, Mr. Wert asked, “I reviewed your record, what questions do you have for me?”- ...responding saying “none, I’m probably not qualified for this job” to which he replied with “you’ll learn.” Never have I ever walked out of an interview for a job I didn’t want that I was pretty sure I was going to get. Mr. Wert exposed me to opportunities to work with new and exciting companies and bring them back into Hanscom Air Force Base (Mass.) program offices. The work ultimately introduced me to the world of #DevSecOps and DoD Platform One…all of which brought me to Defense Unicorns where I truly feel like I never left service or the mission. Mr. Wert saw something in me that I didn’t even see in myself. He took a chance when he didn’t have to and little did I know what that chance would do for my career and life path. I ended up staying in another five years and ultimately landed amongst the absolute best team that I could ever imagine working with…because of one person’s willingness to take a chance. Never forget the power of someone believing in you and the impact it can have on your career.
